The Welcome Committee

D E F E N D E R

Located in the ravine between the territories of Wind and Fire, there is a deep cave. While seemingly uninhabited, the high concentration of Banescales patrolling the outside may clue the keen traveller in that something interesting lies within. Should one travel deeper into the cave, they will find a forest- Lacus Mondura; The Silent Forest.True to its name, not a sound will be heard within… Unless, of course, it is from a member of The Welcome Committee...

Not many dragons can stand up to the might of a guardian… Upon hearing Aurick’s call, Tawari dashes through the forest and tracks down the intruder Aurick is with. Once Tawari is on the scene, there is no way for the intruder to continue deeper into the forest- Tawari uses her massive size and great strength to her advantage, blocking the intruder off and tossing them out of the cave.

Should an intruder fight back, it is usually just a small setback. It doesn’t take Tawari long to knock the foe out and transport them to the cave entrance, where the Banescales wait to carry the trespasser far away.

B E F O R E

When on her search, Tawari was very lost for a while. Eventually, she ended up in Lorelei’s Grotto- a place for lost dragons to be found and adopted by a new clan. She felt restless while she was there, like somehow, she was getting closer and closer to finding her Charge. Then one day, she was invited to be a member of an Ice clan. Tawari was ecstatic. She knew the journey would be long and hard, but knew that at the end of this path, she would have finally found her charge.

By the time she finally arrived, her heart was pounding and she didn’t feel tired at all. Without introducing herself to her new clanmates, she followed her call, dashing all over the lair until she found what she was looking for. Aurick.

She found him in the infirmary, he had arrived there not long before she did, but the cold weather was already taking its toll on his little fae body. He was huddled near the fireplace, shivering and with severe frostbite wounds. She needed to act quickly. She scooped him up and dashed out of the clan’s lair, ignoring the startled screams of the clan behind her.

Ignoring the exhaust that was beginning to set in her muscles, she soared back north, across the sea and toward the glow of flame in the distance; The Ashfall Waste. Gaining an extra boost of adrenaline at the sight, Tawari flew a bit faster- until a powerful gust of wind knocked her off course. It pulled her into a crash landing in the ravine between The Ashfall Waste and The Windswept Plateau. As they barrelled toward the rocks, Tawari pulled Aurick even closer and curled her wings protectively around him. She had just found him… He was her charge, and she was not about to let some gust of wind end his life.

She awoke to small hands trying to shake her head. “W-Wake up..! P-Please..?” Tawari peeped an eye open and felt her heart skip a beat at the sight of her Charge, alive and… mostly well. The two of them were resting at the entrance of a warm cave. Tawari didn’t ask how they had gotten there, but it didn’t matter. All that mattered to her was that her newly found Charge was safe.

They settled in the cave, and as time went on, the two became mates. Their first nest held three hatchlings. Of those three, only Obuun stayed. Eventually, the three of them were asked to become the first line of protection for the kingdom. Thus, The Welcome Committee was born.
