Biography
"Teagan, come away from there," the patient harpy called behind her mask, sharp eyes on her charge.
The Imperial sighed and obeyed, quite used to these words by now. With a natural curiosity that buzzed inside her whenever she looked around, it was hard to sit still. Ocyphie was kind to her, but was protective of the statue that now decorated the clan's center alongside the statue of the Pearlcatcher. Carved from a meteorite that fell the night he passed, the new sculpture depicted a young Fae, his wide eyes full of stars.
Ocyphie called him Aklaer, and though Teagan could not see her face when she spoke of him, she knew the harpy had been close to the Fae and was deeply saddened by his passing. She never knew him--she was new to the clan, brought by Opus, like many of the new hatchlings to Kaiana, apparently. But from Ocyphie's stories, he had been quite the inspiration, and amazing at what he did. The shrines to the deities had never looked as good as they did when he had tended to them; Teagan felt responsible to take up his duties now that he was gone, but she found that her talents were not based around cleaning and upkeep. Instead, she adored to write, and kept a quill behind her ear at all times. With an unlimited supply of ink, it seemed she was set...
"Ocyphie, what should I write about today?" she asked the harpy as they walked back towards the hatchling den; the sun was starting to set.
Her guardian was silent for the rest of the trip, contemplating. When Teagan was safely settled in the den with parchment and her quill, already dipping it on her tongue for ink, she spoke. "Inspire me."
