Kero takes his duty to serve his clan very seriously and while Marissa’s contribution helps with the labor and work that must be distributed throughout the clan, Kero generally feels drained and unfulfilled. While the abundant resources laying at his feet would be enough to sustain the average dragon in the clan, Kero longs and desires to see his son Chalek. Marissa is able to sneak away and visit him whenever she pleases do to her more behind the scenes work, although Kero is unable to do this as there are constant eyes on him from the whole clan looking up to him. Through all of this, Kero faces a eternal and painful solitude despite never physically being in isolation from the dragons that surround him and his life.
