Biography
Sayuri

Shy || Naturalist || PeaceKeeper
Sayuri frowned at the tiny, green dragon that sat at her side. "We both know that's exactly what you're saying. Besides, you're one to talk. You never have to worry about things going wrong- they always go exactly how you want them to. Some of us aren't as lucky, Clover." Sayuri snorted. 'Lucky'. If one word described Clover, it was 'lucky'. Wherever she went, luck seemed to follow. "Remember that time I played hide-and-seek with you in a bamboo forest? I got lost. You came out completely fine, and with a baby bird sleeping in your talons." Clover made an innocent face. "Just because you're horrible at directions doesn't mean I'm any luckier than you. Really, you're an expert at getting lost. It's a talent." Sayuri rolled her eyes at her favorite sister. "What about the baby bird?" Clover ignored her. "C'mon, pleeease?" she wheedled. "Just once. I promise I'll never make you do it again if you don't like it." "I doubt that," Sayuri muttered. "Anyway- how many times do I have to say this?- it's dangerous." "Not if I go with you! I'll be..." Clover sighed. She hated when people called her what she was about to say. "I'll be your good luck charm." Sayuri smiled hesitantly. "Fine. One time. And if anything happens, we're turning around and flying home." "Of course," Clover said sweetly. Sayuri knew the only reason Clover agreed was because nothing bad would happen. Nothing bad ever happened to her. ... Clover's favorite destination when she went on these kinds of flights was the Sunbeam Ruins. "There's just something so dreamy about all that sunlight," she said as she soared alongside Sayuri. "It's like... it's like a dream." "Yeah, I'm pretty sure that's what 'dreamy' means," Sayuri teased. Her sister didn't reply. "Well, since it's your first time," Clover finally said, "You should get to choose where we're going." Sayuri didn't suggest anything immediately. "The Tangled Wood," she said finally. "If we're going to be illegal, we might as well go to the scariest place we can." "What about the Scarred Wasteland, then? It's clos-" "Too scary." Sayuri shivered, and Clover smiled. "Don't be so nervous. Maybe this will change you." Sayuri shivered again. "For the better," Clover quickly said. "Who knows? Maybe my scaredy-cat sister will finally find a place she wants to move to when she gets older." "Don't be silly," Sayuri said. "I would never leave the Plateau, and one flight wouldn't change my mind. Especially a flight to the Tangled Wood." She glanced at Clover. She looked... determined. Things always go exactly how you want them to... "One flight wouldn't change my mind," Sayuri repeated. Right? |
