A native of the Tsunami Flats, Aquila was apprenticed young to a star diviner despite showing almost no proficiency for divination. While under their tutelage, he only saw one omen in the stars: a vision of star-maps, and of great stone spires. When he made his pilgrimage to the Shoredeep Presage, he saw the Rest's spire from afar, and broke off from the pilgrims' caravan to go to the city.

Aquila was warmly welcomed, and for the first time he felt like he belonged. Nobody looked down their snouts at him for being unable to tell the future, and the top of the Waypoint was perfect for skywatching. He began making clumsy maps with his limited knowledge, spending night after night atop the Waypoint. After a few months, he was interrupted one evening by Procyon, another new arrival from a Shoredeep Presage caravan. Procyon shared Aquila's passion for the night sky, but he'd actually learned how to make proper maps from sailors passing through Churnscar Wharf. The two quickly became a team, producing detailed maps of the night sky from the Rest.

Aquila and Procyon's maps are widely used among both the Traveler's Rest Airship Fleet and other dragons passing through the Rest. The two dragons are well-known among the Rest's night crew, given the nature of their job's working hours.
