ABOUT + Scorn was flesh and blood like any other - until the clan of the shifting expanse she was a part of grew desperate to win a war of technological attrition (and the loss of many lives) against their life long enemy - the horrors of the shade shard beneath their very feet. + what they did to her was unspeakable - they add her a monster of flesh and metal, capable of fighting for hours and never tiring, capable of holding and directing the hive mind of drones and robots synced to her and then the council through her - she was their premier soldier, their perfect terminator and the ultimate war built computer. + they placed leashes, restrictions and walls around her mind - they locked away emotions and memories, instilled strict codes and laws - she was to obey the, she was to never harm them, she was to destroy the enemy. + her mate, Dusk, had never been informed as to what had happened to Scorn - only that she was doing her duty, that she was busy holding the tide against an incursion in the lower five levels of the fourth corridor - the most heavily beaten at gate by the horrors. Undaunted and growing steadily more concerned the longer she was away (with not even a message? Suspect) he quietly absconded from his squadron when the downtime cycle started and crept away to find her. + it was needless to say a heartbreak when he did find her - the lack of recognition in her eyes, nevermind the mutilation he could see plain as day - he tried to reach her, tried to get her to recognise him before his arrest, but she merely watched passively as he was pulled away. + she did not see her mate again until something terrible went wrong - a breach in the corridors - and suddenly she was, was....herself? Her memories, her emotions?....the pain of before, the silence of her own mind caged - The leashes broke down and all she could see...t-t-think “whA-TTTT H-avE YO-UUUU..DDD D-ONE TTTTT-O MEEEEE????” + needless to say it was a rout after that - the horrors overtaking the corridors and suddenly their guardians turning on them, Termination and K9 units turning back and fighting to get to the command Center, destroying and gunning down those trying to stop them as the mind of war screamed for anguish and vengeance against her mutilators. + it was here the two forces collided - and Scorn prepared to fight to survive to enact her vengeance, until, until a beloved voice called forth from the writhing darkness- “Beloved” + and the shadows circling around the form that strode from them - clinging like a grotesque second skin and hiding behind his eyes and curling from his teeth - was her mate, her beloved Dusk. + why and how she had asked - and in answer “I did it all for you Scorn, for your freedom - for the dragoness I loved so, I became a monster of monsters” + and oh the irony, here they both were, horrible abominations to all the deities had made - one born by the hands of kin and the other the enemy yet they loved each other all the same and now in purpose they strived forwards and the inner gates crumbled before both shadows and machine. + the council, struck dumb by the betrayal of their greatest assets and the unholiest of alignments - were slaughtered before they could even panic - and now all that remained were two monsters and the shadows they had turned with flesh, metal and darkness. + they were at a loss now, they did not know what to do - where to go and existed for a time in a torpor of their ruined once home and now nightmarish nest - at least until extermination squads came, seeking to end the shade as they always do - But Scorn would not allow this, enraged, the dragoness of the war mind turned her creations, her soldiers against them - and then spread her network while no firewall yet knew to watch for her - she infected where she could, a Trojan horse, a worm in the system - one by one she rested machines to her side and turned them on creators that had ordered her and her beloveds death. + eventually even they tire of having no time for respite in an endless stalemate - but it was at this time they were approached by a figure in emerald armour, come in offer of sanctuary - Scorn was wary, but the stranger had an AI, friendly and one that spoke for them - spoke of how they’d find a home where 5hey could finally be left at peace. + she requested consulting with her mate before deciding - to which they agreed - and eventually answered in the affirmative - the armoured stranger inclined his head and before they knew it, they were whisked away to a strange place - but home. + [expand upon Insomnium, Umbra blood etc ] |
