Biography

Vipin
The Doctor

tumblr_inline_nirti0UZyg1rwdj8f.png
A dragon staggered slowly into the hut, clutching their head and trudging through the clearing leading into it. Their magenta eyes seemed to unfocus and refocus once again.
“Is… Is the medic here?”
Candlelight flickered across a pair of pensive emerald eyes as a dragon emerged.
“You’ve come to the right place. What seems to be the issue? If you need help with a curse, you can find my sister. She’s currently… Well, busy.
Strangely, the dragon recoiled.
“Ah… Right, I seem to have a headache. Do you happen to have any herbs that cure them?”
Vipin seemed to smile as he retrieved a feverfew plant from a cupboard. His eyes scanned over the little herb. The small minty-green petals seemed to droop a little, but it was preserved extremely carefully. Whoever picked these for them must have been extremely delicate with the plant.
“Here, feverfew taken from the Gale Wolves residing in the Bamboo Falls. It cures headaches when consumed in moderate amounts and consistently, and it can be mixed into salads or boiled in tea. You can also grow some yourself, if your headaches are consistent or if you need some more just in case.”
The dragon nodded in thanks and thanked Vipin before picking up a pouch of feverfew, writing down the name of the medicine, and leaving a small silk pouch of treasure before hurriedly leaving the hut. Strange. Whenever his sister treated a patient, they were always reluctant to leave before thanking her profusely and would always look her in the eyes when replying with a smile on their face. Was it something about him? His eyes? His scales? His tone? What was it?

A dragon wearing a patch-covered witch’s hat poked her head into the hut. Despite having the exact same emerald eyes as Vipin, hers seemed brighter and more cheerful and much, much greener than the grass in the Forever Green Forest. Her smile seemed more natural.
“Vipin! I’ve been really busy lately trying to help lift a curse from a certain patient of mine; I’m really sorry for being unable to visit often. Does anyone need a curse lifted? Any news for your sister?”
Vipin looked down at his claws. His voice’s tone changed. “...No. Not really.”
“Was it the attitude of another customer? Vipin, there’s nothing wrong with you. Even if they think you’re a bit strange, quiet and off-setting, does it make you a different dragon? I can bet that everyone living in Spring would admit that you’re the healer they trust. Even if they don’t trust you, show them what you can do. Even if they think you look like a murderer, you can prove that you’re nothing like that effortlessly. Even without me here, they’ll trust you with their lives. Now, I should probably hurry off with my trinkets, herbs and spell scrolls. I’ll be back in a week!”
Vipin smiled as his eyes followed his sister’s wings sporting glowing golden garlands outside. He may not be the best with social interaction, but he could cure them just as well as any other dragon, and maybe, just maybe, even better.
