On a day home from work, Ruoxin stands among a crowd of young dragonets, beaming as he runs his mouth and makes wild gestures with his forelimbs and wings. His eyes are alight as he tells whatever dramatic tale he's got the kids hooked on this time, thriving in the excitement on each of their enraptured little faces. He catches you eye as you pass and just grins before jumping back into the story. Seems he's getting along just fine here.

- Hatchling Biography
Fire. Smog. Death. In Ruoxin's early childhood in his birth clan, a savage wildfire cut through the territory, setting everything alight and taking the lives of too many--literally and figuratively; if not life itself, it was indeed very likely that a dragon's livelihood went up in flames. He and his siblings were shuffled to safety along the ground, the smog too thick for many to see to fly to safety, but his sister got separated and his mother had to turn back to find her. She returned with her, but was overcome by injury and smoke and in the end didn't live to see him find his true self. It was Blueheart who raised him instead, stern but the best caregiver he could have asked for. He had some breathing problems for a few months himself, but under Blueheart's care he turned out just fine.

Ruoxin's earliest memories are as thick and hazy as the smoke that had filled the air, but he remembers one thing very clearly: his mother gave her life to save his sister, and that heroism stuck with him for the rest of his life.


- Adolescent Biography
Raised by Blueheart, Ruoxin was taught how to lead and how to connect with the people to get further in life. Nothing but the best would suffice, and Ruoxin delivered somehow despite seeming to never pay much attention. His attention was always on the fictional and the fantastic, staring with fascination at paintings of the past and of children's tales brought to life.

While his brother would skulk and grow bitter about their mother, Ruoxin took inspiration from these exciting stories to tell exaggerated tales of heroism about how his mother died to save his sister. This is where his love of storytelling began, and it was fairly soon after that he got a letter in the mail from none other than Sakura of the Tranquil Crosswinds inviting him to come study journalism. Needless to say, he was elated.

- Adult Biography
The Crosswinds was a very welcoming clan for Ruoxin, who thrived in the big city. There was always something to write about in the local news, always some group of hatchlings coming to him and asking him to tell "that story with the fire" or "that story with the were-hainus." He'd grown to love writing childrens' books in his spare time, and between that and his job as a journalist, Ruoxin now lives a very good life indeed.
