Biography
a gift of peace.
"Let this hatchling bring you peace," Flawa seemed to say, her voice whispering to them from the breeze through the bamboo. "Peace for you to move on, Pearl, and accept that what happened in the past was not your fault."
Topaz lowered his head, his fins down.
"Peace for you, too, Topaz, that you may let go. You can still do right by the world, I know." The wind seemed to smile at him. He looked up again, searching for the source of the voice. "No need to suffer any longer. Forgiveness comes." Pearl nodded, giving Topaz a small smile, still looking as shocked to see him as she was to hear Flawa.
The soft-eyed hatchling gazed up at their parents, blinked slowly, and gave them an adorable smile. There was audible cooing from the perimeter of the hatchery - nobody had been able to wait to see the new dragonets. Pearl looked into the bamboo with an exasperated, yet still fond, expression. Dragons who had helped her to find her own peace.
She looked back to Topaz, raising her brows. He chuckled. Their soft-eyed hatchling made a sound like they were trying to chuckle, too. Pearl stroked their tiny head, and it closed its eyes again, the picture of serenity.
"Come in," she called, "not all at once, please."
