Sourpuffs are a minuscule breed of fae-ridgeback with beak-like, bony protrusions. Even the female ridgebacks have this tool for tree-pecking - and defense. They compete with sweet- and ragepuffs and are mostly seen as witless pests and ill omens. A colony of sourpuffs can sour an entire forest's worth of song with the indignant shrieks of its native residents, but no one has ever heard the sourpuff's defense.
