Rucks was separated from his older brother for decades. It must be said that they never were close, despite their shared passion for sciences. Both of them had been raised by the smartest of light dragons, and the majority of their interactions came down to battles of wits. Kapa was a quick study; however, the same couldn't be said of his brother, Rucks, who remembered him as taunting and even insensitive.
Kapa was a promising ichthyologist when the sea took his soul. Was it the will of the Tidelord, another sea god, or the water itself? - If Kapa knew, he never spoke of it. He was presumed dead, drowned because of his own temerity.

It was a hasty presumption, for Kapa didn't die. He became a river spirit - the messenger of the water's will and a fish shepherd, caring for underwater meadows. He still remembered his past, but unclearly, through the prism of a new mindset. As time passed, he turned spontaneous and intrepid, a force of nature captured in a mortal body. But fearing misunderstanding, he hid himself from dragonkind. It was a long time before he noticed Hyperrectangle's activity - and even longer until he met his brother again.

Kapa is a treasure trove of knowledge, though he can't share it through speech or writing. Slowly learning to understand each other, the brothers created their own sign language, and the expedition began progressing with remarkable speed. Despite how confident he is in water, Kapa easily becomes nervous in regular conversations. He can barely express himself in sign language, and proceeds to make more and more chaotic gestures as unfortunate listeners fail to understand him. It seems Rucks is the only person he feels safe with.

• The curse took his eyes and ability to speak. The sight of a god, the gills of a sea-dweller, and eternal youth are what he got in exchange.
• While he can't speak, he's very expressive with his face and limbs. Some dragons consider it hella creepy.
• Kapa seems to find things funny rather than strange. Guess he just finds life itself ridiculous. Still defends it however.
• Has a soft spot for cuttlefish. He would hug all of them, really.
