It was the thirst that parched his throat before all his other senses had even developed. The moon had greeted him and his sister in half shadow, the light the first thing he saw after he had burst out of his shell. It was pale, cold, almost like ice - while its half had been ensconced in a shadow so dark he might've believed that the moon was halved straight down its middle. He scrabbled out of the remains of his shell, relieved to be released from its glass like confines. The scent of blood had reared something in him, and he immediately sought out its source, a beating hear that he could hear so loudly as if everything else was drowned out by water, and that same nothingness no longer mattered. The hatchling unhinged his jaw and bit hard at the warm scented flesh. He heard a hiss, but then he was drinking. Drinking. Drinking. "It will take time getting used to...." he heard someone say. He eased his jaw just as his other senses trickled in. "He will have to know control, although it isn't easy for vampires to adjust. I told you the consequences of our union, Sygillus." Mother, he immediately thought. This is her blood. Life-giving. Dangerous. He eased away his sharp teeth, sated in this tiny body, and he looked up at his mother, all glittering darkness, lowering her head to his and gently cleaning off his maw. "You are born in between," she whispered to him. "Between dark and light, vampire and witch." He watched his mother's lips but it never moved. The stars in her skin seemed to glow brighter. "Your need for blood is strong, and I feel your power, Anarazel, and you will destroy countless foes ... and friends," her voice had gone quieter that he almost needed to strain forward to hear her. "The darkness is strong in you... and I fear you will never find the light."

Unlike his aunt, Anarazel came to the Disillusionists when he was already full-grown. He had spent his formative years with his parents, learning to control his abilities and more predatory instincts. While having his aunt nearby was a plus, Anarazel was sent to the clan mainly for two reasons: to enlist the aid of Jubilant, the Arcane representative, in creating a moving lair of his own; and to ask Rufus the golem maker to construct inorganic servants for him. Now a full-fledged demon hunter, Anarazel spends nearly all his time in the Southern Icefield. The long nights of that land make it an ideal spawning ground for fiends, and it is Anarazel's duty to investigate and dispatch malevolent ones. His moving lair, Touring Tower, is a source of curiosity to many Ice clans, and his frigid servants keep him company without being in danger from his bloodthirst.

December, the Cold MoonMeanwhile other Witchborne could make themselves immaterial or charm speak their way through to get information, those dragons born under the Cold Moon are quite desperately sought after as they are blessed with two abilities: to silence, muting the physical sound around them, and to whisper - directly into the mind. In Silence, they are able to create it, but distance, mass and precision depends upon of the knowledge, skill, and strength of the dragon. Meanwhile, Whispers are able to manipulate, read, and sometimes fully control the minds of other dragons within reach. As with the first ability, the strength and depth of this ability depends on training and talent, with the strongest whispers able to fully possess all corners of an opponent's brain, reading their thoughts or controlling their actions without their opponent even knowing. Any of these two abilities make them formidable in combat and reconnaissance, but even most rarer, and deadlier, are those who possess both.
