Dragon Log

She was born as one of two “foundling eggs,” discovered lying unattended near the Clan entrance. The eggs in question were oddly patterned, with an even odder magic radiating from them, and some in the Clan--most noticeably the Gaolers--advised strongly against bringing them into the Lair. The Clan Mother, however, insisted that no hatchling should ever be abandoned, and so the strange eggs were brought safely to the Nursery, where Imbolc, as Clan Nanny, and Spinel, as Clan Healer, kept a close eye on them for some time…until they unexpectedly both hatched, within minutes of each other, into the oddest looking dragons any in the Clan had ever seen…

12-10-19: An inquisitive hatchling, she began her life by poking her nose into almost every crevice in the Healing Cave that she could find. Her explorations stopped abruptly, however, when she accidentally breathed too hard on some oddly shaped leaves, and set them ablaze. Spinel scooped her up to check her out for injuries--and remove her from the vicinity of his precious herbs--only to get another shock. Indignant at the sudden handling, the hatchling let a loud squawk, and vanished from the cave! It took several minutes of frantic searching for Spinel to find her, curled up under Imbolc’s wing in the Nursery, next to a purring Runescar Lynx. It seems that as well as breathing fire, this little one can literally move from one place to another without physically crossing the distance in between. What other secrets is she hiding? Only time will tell…

1-30-20: When the original Ice Hockey Team that had been chosen to compete in the Crystalline Gala’s Sornieth Winter Games turned out to be too exhausted (from dealing with a disastrous magical catastrophe at the Lair) to compete, this young Banescale shocked everyone by asking to be included in the Random Draw to determine the new team members…and winning the Draw! Now she is playing as Center Forward in an attempt to win a medal for the Clan, and everyone is interested to see how well she does… ( )

2-2-20: After the mess back at the Lair, it is almost a relief for all those who competed in the Winter Games this year to indulge in the (relatively) simple task of breaking down camp while waiting for their results… ( )

2-7-20: Despite a valiant effort from this young one and her team, it was not meant to be. The team was overwhelmed in the third round, and ended up finishing in the middle of the lists. Still, it was not a complete disaster. Perhaps next year will be better…

2-24-20: After her efforts at the Gala, this Banescale has decided that she is more than old enough to live on her own, and has convinced her “sister” to join her in a large, bowl-shaped cave in the back of the Lair. The cave in question was carved out by the Gaolers of the Clan, as part of the “Time Circle Caves.” Oddly, neither Banescale seems that interested in thanking their older Clanmates for the help. In fact, the first action they took after claiming the cave as their own was to combine their power, and create a shimmering shield of Fire Magic that is easily permeable by all dragons of the Clan--except the Gaolers. More oddly still, the Gaolers do not seem to be offended by this action, although they do seem strangely sad…

3-15-20: The Runescar Lynx has Awakened! The Banescale is thrilled that her friend has so much new energy. She is enojoying herself, curled up in front of her private "weyr" and watching the little cat cavort all over the caves. Now if only they could find names for both of them...
