While cleaning out an old, forgotten archive in the beautiful, pink lands of Arcane, Erh and Ems accidentally came in contact with a set of curious, unused ink when the unseen bottles tumbled off a high shelf. After a long, tense moment of nothing happening, they saved what they could, just in case, and cleaned themselves off.

The very next morning, they awoke with permanently changed appearances. Their hides resembled parchment that had been stained with color. Believing that the Arcanist had inadvertently blessed them, they took it in stride.

A few weeks later, they stumbled across the knowledge that they could safely channel much more magic than before.


Their children are born with the same distinctive patterns on their hide and ample magic reserves. Despite having the Icewarden in their veins, Erh and Ems believe their family's been further blessed by their maker, the Arcanist, for their hatchlings' pigments of color are ever-shifting.

Raiv

Raiv is the clans archivist. Since there are a lot more scribes to write down the prophecies of the oracles, he is in charge of the bibliotheque.
Since this is a position of high prestige some of his parents magic rubbed on onto him. He feels the urge to write things own needed. It took the clan a while to understand he can feel the needs and wishes of his clan members. Someone needs new glasses. Raiv already has them set up. Someone needs a new sword. Raiv already told the smith.
With this ability Raiv is a master of organisation, and the small Fae has a high status amongst the clan.
He has his own chamber in the temple, where usually, only the oracles are tolerated. Since he is gifted and the person to come to for all kind of merchants and craftmans, he is kept there, where he is safe.
His feather is a gift from the clans alchemist. It is able to write without needing ink. So he keeps the feather always around, mostly on his hat. And the list with things needed is tightly wrapped around his tail.
