Biography

ujiCI4p.png Amys
If I must fall, I will rise each time a better dragon.

Amys sat in the small hut at the brink of the Wyrmwound. She could still smell the foul odour of the nearby lake. But it wasn’t the smell that made her feel unsteady and sick. It was the shame of her failure. Thirteen days she had spent here, fastening and praying to the Plaguebringer to bless her with her touch. When the plague took hold of her body, covering her flesh with festering pustules and bloody sores she had been relieved. Tears of joy had mingled with sweat and blood. By sheer force of will she had forced the plague to withdraw from her body. What took others days, she had accomplished in mere hours. It had left her exhausted and tired but immensely proud. She now bore the markings of a dragon that had mastered the Trial of Survival. Then came the last and final trial. The trial that would prove her to be a truly blessed by the Plaguebringer. When the dragon she was supposed to infect and heal knelt before her, Amys had been confident that she would master the last trial. Spreading the disease was easy enough, but once the infection had taken hold in the other dragon’s body, she couldn’t call it back again. She tried and failed over and over again until the Necromancer watching over her trial declared it a failure. She was branded a Necroservus, one would expect her to serve instead of lead. All her dreams and plans for her future died that day. While the others were long gone, Amys had stayed. She didn’t know what to do. Should she go back and serve another Necromancer as it was expected of her? Always looked down upon, doomed to a life in the shadow of another?

Amys got unsteadily to her feet and stumbled through the door. Beneath her lay the churning Wyrmwound, calling to her, mocking her for her failure. She teetered on the edge, one more step and the pustule liquid would consume her, washing away the shame. Blissful oblivion. But was that what she really wanted? She had fought hard for her survival not more than a day ago, battling the infection that rampaged within her body. She had desperately clung to life, fighting back the plague with all the strength she could muster. Throwing her life away now felt like a betrayal. She had been so focused on becoming a Necromancer, she almost forgot that there was yet another path open to her. A path that could lead to glory instead of failure. Her mother had told her stories of her ancestors, proud warriors from an ancient bloodline. Amys had never listened closely, since her childhood she had been determined to follow in her father’s footsteps. But this path had led her to a dead end. Maybe it was time to turn around and choose another. Amys stepped away from the edge. She couldn’t go back and face her parents so she turned north instead. The Plaguemother had not accepted her service, and Amys felt no obligation to her any longer. She would leave the Scarred Wasteland and search for that ancient order of the Night Warriors. Hopefully they would be more appreciative of her dedication than the goddess that had rejected her.

Narishma
Information
Name // Amys

Role // Warrior / Necroservus

Personality/Background // Amys failure at the Trial of Contagion almost broke her. Her whole life and training had been dedicated to become a Necromancer like her father. When she failed that last trial, she was left empty and her life became pointless. Amys however is not a dragon that accepts defeat easily. The weak perish in the Scarred Wastelands and Amys was never weak. At first, she clung to her mother’s heritage like a drunkard to a bottle. She needed something to live, something that would giver her life purpose. But soon after she finally found members of the Night Warriors and began her training, she realized that being a Night Warrior was far more than a crutch to her, it was her true calling. That she would find a home deep within the Gladekeeper’s territory soon felt natural to her. What one sister rejected, the other welcomed warmly. Although she could potentially infect and kill every dragon in her new clan, they trust her and the oaths she has sworn.

Familiar // Amber
-- Role of familiar // The Dryad Amber came to Amys after her failed trial. She encountered her on her long journey through the Scarred Wasteland and was hesitant at first to welcome her as a travel companion. Dryads were seen as a lesser kind of familiar, but then Amys had decided to leave all that behind her. Her bony companion had kept her company since childhood, but of course he couldn’t talk. Beastclan members could and Amber made the lone journey much more bearable. After her journey ended, Amber decided to stay with her instead of joining another Beastclan in the Shrieking Wilds.

Mate // Narishma
Narishma is a Necroservus like Amys. He also failed the last and most important trial. Unlike Amys’ clan, his tried to force him into service to a Necromancer by blood magic. A rogue Nercroservus was seen as too dangerous by them. But Narishma escaped. He harbors a deep resentment towards both his former clan as well as fully fledged Necromancers.
