Calliope is quite shy. She is nervous about meeting new people, as she has at times been bullied about her eyes. She doesn't see them as anything special other than making her really good at not letting anyone sneak up on her. Some dragons expect her to grow up to be something mystical and amazing but Calliope hates the pressure, she just wants to be herself.

Tired of other's judging eyes, she often hides her own from sight with clothes and mane. When Calliope left the clan her small swift wings took her to a colder faraway place. It wasn't long before the naive fae got herself in trouble and, by thankful accident, met another dragon through a front seat look at a battle in the dangerous Boreal Woods who took pity of her being ambushed by hungry beasts.

Calliope couldn't quite catch his eye after being so careless in her first week away from the arms of her mother. The older dragon had a long, dark purple body bearing a warm cape and he looked down at her with stark white eyes— she recognized the color: he was spiral born in these lands.

It was only when he approached her that she realized he didn't look quite... corporeal.




























The stranger looked at her and her many eyes one by one as if understanding something that brought him relief. "You can see me," he said with a smile and a closed mouth.

His voice echoed through the forest, almost as if he talked through the trees, Calliope thought it was kind of funny. "Why should I not?"

With a laughter and a voice much more lively now, he said, "Ah, of course. How silly of me." He wiped his bloodied claws on the snow. They had been shining with magic in the fight moments before, it had ended so quickly now that her mind is clear enough to think about it. "What is such a young dragon doing in a place like this?"

Calliope blinks, head tilting, hands stopping their tidying motion between the dark strands. She doesn't really understand the question. Does he mean the forest? The ice flight's territory? Or the fact that he probably thinks she's lost? Unsure of what to say, she blurts out her only certainity.

"I'm just trying to find a safe place to rest."
