Roseclaw

As Roseclaw rose from her slumber, she thought long and hard over what had happened, and wondered if it were merely a dream. Yes, she was finally appointed Research Assistant, her lifelong goal, to the Head Researcher, Woodenheart. She could not be certain of this reality, this mirage, until Woodenheart sought her out once more. Sighing, her wild, unfocused gaze drifted over the wide expanse of blue sky and puffy white clouds, tempting her to soar off into the azure unknown. So much to know, learn, and record, yet she was hindered - not by her naivete and inexperience, but by the restrictions of time - as she was but a mortal being. However, duty compelled her, as did her status; she was eight generations removed from the progenitors of her great clan, and furthermore a member of the Old Throne. She shut her weary eyes, and a shroud of darkness briefly encapsulated her vision. In that interval of time, a billion thoughts were tossed across her mind: What would become over her? Would the knowledge she had captured so painstakingly be lost in the wind yet again? Was she destined for this?

She was silent for a minute, a myriad of complicated expressions overcasting her features as she weighed her choices over. If she let herself embark on this voyage, to follow her dreams and to gather knowledge, then she would let herself slip into the unknown, but for a great cause: the convenience of many like her with a thirst for knowledge. With great uncertainty lingering in her mind, she grasped her necklace tentatively, a heirloom passed down for centuries; a strange relic, dating back into ancient times. It gave her courage, and more importantly, a burning curiosity. Yes, she was determined now - determined to learn. Having no excuse to linger furthermore, she slipped out of her chambers, soaring into the vast unknown, bringing nothing but her ambition and thirst for knowledge.

And so it began. Her quest. To gather all of her clan history, ancient or new. She would learn the way the sands of time shift, and the ways history is fated to repeat itself. And so it does, and so it will be.
