Surprise! I'm alive!
Yes, this is Lelani. I somehow got teleported to the river between Light and Nature, and I got found by this one Clan where our leader is a crazy Skydancer (I think she fakes it, and I have no idea how we made her leader-
This is Lelani's mate Aaron Hal. Technically, we didn't officially make Dawn leader, but it's fine because she's actually not a bad one.
The dragons there actually helped get rid of my Shade magic (which in hindsight is actually a relief because it was honestly quite tiring), and now I'm a librarian. I already have a couple kids (they've grown up), and one of them just had a pair of hatchlings the other day!
Remember when I said I wanted to become a queen when I was young? Yeah, I pretty much gave up on that dream because I think the quiet life's more for me - it's peaceful, and I've been getting into books recently so I've got a lot to do.
The Clan's become a trading post. It's not very busy, but that may change soon. The dragons here are friendly enough, so I guess that's good.
How about you? How is everything? And most importantly, what happened to Jett? Looking forward to hearing from you :)

Dear Lelani,

You and I have never met, but my name is Seaberry. I am your grandmother on your mother's side. I wanted to write to you to thank you for your letter. Unfortunately I realized far too late that you and your brother existed, and I never had the chance to meet you. I can imagine how difficult it must have been for your mother, having you and needing to hide you. I too had to raise many children on my own, but that is besides the point. From what I heard from Kestrel and Bok, you never had the chance to meet your mother as it is. Such is the way of life, and I apologize for that. Your mother was stolen by her father, Jett, at a young age, and was trained to be a Shade mage, and it took everything in her to fight against it and fight for survival.

But I'm getting off track. It is hard to know what to say to a dragon you have never met, but as someone who had a mother who never did anything unless it benefited herself, I figured the least I could do was write to you.

Unfortunately, I am not only writing so that I can formally introduce myself to you. I am also writing because I have some bad news that I think you should be aware of. The Forgotten Kingdom overthrew Jett, and we have a new king by the name of Dellenger, who is a much better fit for our kingdom. However, near the start of our rebellion, Lester was murdered in cold blood by Jett. He wanted to kidnap Lester's own children and train them as Shade mages, and Lester was standing in his way. I am sorry to say, but your brother never got your letter. It was delivered to me as next of kin instead, as your parents left the clan to find somewhere they could live their own lives.

Feel free to write any time, though I understand if you do not wish to do so, as you no longer have any ties here. I wish you and your family well. Congratulations on the grandkids! It is strange to know that I am now a great-great-grandmother!
