Biography

Uh-oh, looks like this dragon wandered a little too far from her home lair (278466, Archiy), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful! I’m always willing to take her back in if you’ve run out of space or have lost interest in her.

Journal entry 0: The Woods
Martha and Garth, a somewhat classic brother and sister duo with their own special quirks. Garth the bossy protective older brother, that doesn’t give Martha an inch and Martha the scatterbrained, idiotic not all there, lesbian sister. Yes Martha and Garth are as dysfunctional as they sound. Believe me when I tell you, I wish I never met them. Don’t worry their journey has barely started and they found their way into your clan. I can promise you it’ll be as Martha would put it, “a real shebang“. I bet your wondering how these two ended up in your clan, and that’s a really good question. Why did you let them in? No seriously, why? How did they get there? They don’t even know that themselves. I wish you the best of luck with this chaotic sibling duo and good riddance. - Tristan[/center]

Journal entry 1: Crow Callers
The two Wildclaws thought they'd found a good place to stay, and it was a Plague clan this time. They explained that they were travellers, but instantly zipped past the clan leaders before they could say "welcome" and promptly made a mess of the Traveller's Inn. The clan encountered a traveller not unlike this before, and he was a Snapper named Hooli. Not wanting to make the same mistake they already did with Hooli, they considered throwing Garth and Martha out of the clan. However, Tobias and Fiddler found some redeeming qualities of these two troublemakers, and told them that as long as they kept it down, they'd be allowed to stay for as long as they wanted. They agreed, but promptly broke the promise, having a wild party in the Traveller's Inn late at night. Travelling dragons (and those that lived close to the Traveller's Inn) complained about a lack of sleep. As a result, Garth and Martha were told to leave the clan.

Journal entry 2: Clan Nightshade
The next lair they arrive at is in the Lighteaver's domain-- a large, walled city with plenty of traffic passing in and out of the gates. They find a place to take shelter from the midday sun, a large, mostly empty building with dozens of hammocks suspended from the walls and the tall, tall ceilings. "Are you new recruits?" asks a well-dressed, cold-eyed Skydancer, looking down at them from high up in the rafters.

"No," Garth answers. "We're just travelers. Just passing through."

"That's fine, then," says the Skydancer. "You may stay. Just don't make any trouble."

And they don't intend to, of course-- it's only trouble if you get caught. But there are eyes everywhere, in the barracks. Namiiru catches them going through one of the recruits' stuff, and hauls them away to sleep outdoors for the evening. "In the morning," she says, sternly, "the drill master will be here, and he will make you learn some discipline."

They're both hungry in the morning, when an enormous, blue-winged Imperial comes to march them out for training. The place he takes them is horrid-- swampy and full of monsters much, much stronger than they are. "This is what happens to dragons that no one likes," the Imperial warns them, when he finally takes them home. "They are sent off to serve the gods, to fight in endless battles. Behave, or this will befall you, as well."

And they try to. Really, they do. But the soreness in their muscles fades, and the warning does, too. They're the same as they ever were, just a little stronger. And Namiiru isn't always around, isn't always watching. There are quiet weeks where the barracks are mostly empty. Surely, no harm can be done by having a bit of fun while everyone's away.

Namiiru returns late in the evening after their party, while Garth and Martha are sleeping. She grabs Martha by the neck and hauls her out of her cot, marches her to the door as if the Wildclaw isn't twice her size. "Go," she snarls.

"But I didn't do anything," Martha whines.

"You are no longer welcome here," Namiiru hisses. "Leave."

"But my brother--"

"Do not," Namiiru says, wings flaring, alight with blue runes, "make me say it a third time."

So Martha runs, with tears in her eyes, with fear in her heart, and-- for the first time-- without her brother at her side.
