A lost mind like a floating ember strikes the earth and the earth is tinder. From the mind springs forth a body - fully formed. The body is spun from pestilent blood and shattered bones.

History and Deed of the Bloodwinged Queen

Birth
Minstri was born fully formed out of the substance and material of the Scarred Wasteland. Lithe body with sharp teeth and claws, she found this dragonform suited her well. Why she appeared and how she came to be remains a mystery to all... perhaps even a mystery to Minstri herself. Not a mystery she concerns herself with, however.

The Clan of Singing Blood
Once born she set to wandering, summoning the twisted and tainted magics of the local to her, and through this communion with the plague, she discovered the mother of the land her body sprung from. After this she displayed a fierce and sudden devotion, founding a clan and seeking out any she could entice or coerce into joining.

Minstri is the absolute authority in her territory. Even much larger dragons bow swiftly to her will. Those who serve well, love her, but even they admit her madness seems as deep and dangerous as the Wyrmwound itself.

The Quest
Throughout her explorations and the founding of her clan, Minstri's primary concern had always been a singular Quest, which tended to be unfathomable to most who met her. She searched endlessly, and desperately for something. Someone. Another mind, waiting to be born...

"I have a brother. Just like me. The Plaguebringer will bring him to me, because he is like this place. Beautiful ruined flesh, and all-consuming hunger.

He will come. He always comes to me. I can see his coming, but I know not what form he will take. May he be formed up out of the earth or forged from existing minds? When he comes, all will be well again. When we are together."

When, after so many long years of searching, this 'brother' did not manifest, Minstri set about to take the matter into her own twisted claws. She scoured the land - all the land, departing her clan for long stretches, seasons, leaving it in the care of her favored advisors to look for any useful information she could find and to search for her brother, perhaps, among the other children of other gods.

She summoned Advisors of Shadow and Light to speak before her as she sought this mindspark and its manifestation. It is unknown if their knowledge aided her. She traveled the twisting dreamland of the Arcane, boldly to the observatory itself, though oft-challenged along the way, seeking inspiration from that strange domain.

She began strange experiments, temptations, and explorations of the boundaries between life and death. She came to the conclusion that there is no significant difference between the two. She created the Shattered Constructs, perfecting them from blueprints taken from holy conclaves of Gore, but this seemed to get her no closer to her brother.

Every action she took seemed to be underlined by this singular motivation. Even her clan, her children, it was all in service of her Search. Those things which she came to love or hate were all illuminated in the light of this goal.

Her Children
Minstri's first children were The Twins, and after enduring long hardships, they have become the foundation of the clan's might. Though they seem very distant to the clan's core leadership and population, they are the undisputable heads of the Warrior Class, and hold between them all the glory of brutal and violent victories. Dragons which train to be warriors do so alongside the Unnamed Twins.

The Twins were the only children granted to Minstri by Beatfleur; she unmade him shortly after they hatched in a wild show of madness and devotion to the Plaguebringer. After that, Minstri never looked upon any of her children, as doing so caused her untold pain and grief. None besides her know the reason for such agony.

Eventually, Minstri was able to reform her bonds with the Twins and reform her broken clan, but she still avoided any interaction with her own children beside them from that point on. After reestablishing the clan, she selected from her first three disciples Sliver to be her consort. The first of their children was the only one of Minstri's children to be given a proper name. The rose-white pearlcatcher was given a name by Sliver. Fleurbattus was honored and exalted by the small clan as a symbol of renewed life and strength, but when Minstri heard others utter his name, she became furious and laid punishments upon Sliver. During Sliver's shaming, Minstri took Finnigan briefly as her mate. After that, her children were all simply referred to by the Formal title "Honor", and all exalted for the power and dominance of the Plaguebringer.

All of Minstri's children besides the Twins have been honored and exalted to stand with and serve the Plaguebringer and Her vile glory. All sent whole as skilled servants and scions, save one. That one was the last child of Minstri and Sliver, and was unraveled to nothing before first breath drawn by the Awakened upon his arrival. That one pulled with it a sliver of the Bloodqueen's own soul and will, such that she would breathe life into children of her own blood no more.

Description
Minstri is a strange dragon. A small mirror who moves with unnatural grace and power. Instead of scales or skin, her body is covered in a carapace of layered bone. Under this carapace is a reservoir of blood wrapped around her inner skeleton. Her wings and extremities are ever-flowing animate blood clinging to a barely-visible skeletal structure. This blood flows around surfaces as she moves and dances in the air when she shifts or flaps her wings, but is never left behind as track or waste, except on such rare occasions as she is inflicted with dire injury, something no living dragon can attest to witnessing.

But a few dragons have witnessed something else, only slightly less rare. That is Minstri's command over her own form. Just as she was spun out of the earth by the Plaguebringer, she can herself weave her own blood and bony carapace into other shapes, though they are all draconic ones. Some images of alien and primordial dragons may be incorporated into her visage. Her mastery extends to all within her reach, and from her surroundings, she can draw in blood and bone twisting it to her pleasure with her magics.

Her madness makes her prone to violence. She will attack other dragons readily, biting and clawing others being how she communicates displeasure, dissatisfaction, annoyance, or frustration. However, when fighting in earnest, she relies on powerful plague magic rather than physical strength. Her true power though, lies beyond combat prowess. Minstri is a Seer, and many of her followers believe she is capable of drawing thoughts from the minds of others, like drawing water from a well. She speaks in prophecies and of certainties and of things that can never be. Her words and songs and gospels are what summon fanatics to her side. Her grace inspires love, her ferocity, fear and awe.
