First there was Tempest and Fenrir, alone in the darkness of the Tangled Wood. Over time, they met countless friends and allies, relationships formed and changed, and the clan grew in number and power until they became a near unstoppable force, residing in the Forum of the Obscured Crescent. However, the murky woods of the Shadow domain were not to be their home forever. Tempest craved the heritage of her kind, wishing to visit the lands of mirror packs and bloodstained soil. Despite her desires, most of her followers did not share this yearning, and for years she refrained from moving the clan for their sake. All of this changed when an injured Necromancer, introducing himself as Yamai, stumbled upon their clan looking for warriors capable of defeating a Stone Borer that had wandered in and taken over his home territory, killing his companions. His ability to give and take disease was useless against it; it was not living enough to be infected. When hearing his story and seeing his unique power, Tempest could not remain content within the dark woods she grew up in. Determined to make the move, she mustered the clan and began preparations, ignoring the wishes of those who did not want to leave. Tensions rose, as many became angered by her stubbornness and lack of consideration for their weakness to the diseases of Plague territory. Just as it seemed a full blown fight would break out, a compromise was reached by Borra, one of the clan's potent mages. While reluctant to leave herself, she proposed placing a spell on those who could not or would not journey to Plague. They would sleep, protected by the magic and dreaming of running through the forests of Shadow. Those who favored Shadow agreed with various degrees of enthusiasm, eager to avoid picking a fight with the clan's warriors, and so the move began. Nearly half of the clan bid their goodbyes, and sank into the slumber that would last the rest of their lives as everyone else began preparations for their new lives in the domain of the Plaguebringer.

When the party sent to defeat the Borer arrived in the new lands, all was silent, putting their guide Yamai on edge. While they were all tense in anticipation of the upcoming battle, Tempest was thrilled to be in Plague territory, and was practically jumping for joy as they ran around searching for the Borer. Acheron turned her eyeless face up towards the sun, enjoying its warmth but not her newfound lack of camouflage. Shatterwing glared suspiciously down at the ground, shifting so that Ejo, who had come along to be a messenger to the rest of the clan once the Borer had been defeated, was higher up. Soulseep sighed while watching them all, wandering away to a scraggly group of trees in search of shade. She rested against the largest of them, but even it was not strong enough to hold her weight. She tumbled backwards, 'discovering' the edge of a cliff and falling down it to the nearby lower lands. A rumble could be heard through the surrounding area as the Borer rose from where it had been resting at the base of the cliff, its mechanical eye glowing with anger at being awoken.

The party of warriors jumped into action, leaping into a fighting formation while their other travelling companions stood back. All parties hesitated a moment, sizing each other up before Tempest leapt forward in an attempt to sink her teeth into the metallic hide of the Borer... which was not very effective. The Borer flung her off to the side, while Acheron lunged towards its ankles and Shatterwing took a defensive position in front of Soulseep, who dusted herself off and began to meditate. Tempest emerged from the pile of bones she had been flung into with a deep wound on her shoulder and determination in her eyes. Acheron's attack landed, tearing a few wires out from the joint of the Borer, but it brought its drill down onto her shoulder. Acidic blood sprayed from her wound and she shrieked in defiance at the Borer, yet retreated and joined the onlookers to avoid a potentially fatal injury. Despite being down a fighter, the battle was turning in the clan's favor. Acheron's acidic blood had splashed not only the Borer's leg but its drill, preventing it from doing such significant damage to the others. The Borer fell to one knee as the joint of its leg melted away, becoming useless to it. In a last ditch attempt to fend off the attacking dragons, the Borer called upon the earth, sending boulders shooting up towards Soulseep. Shatterwing leapt into action and used the momentum of the boulders to push Soulseep up into the air, taking the brunt of the attack and stumbling. Soulseep's magical attack was finally ready, and a whirlwind of air surrounded the Borer. Her wind spun the Borer in a tight circle, pulling at it from every direction, unscrewing parts of the protective casing and exposing vital wiring at its core. Tempest, seeing her opportunity, lunged forward and sank her teeth into the wires, and with a determined tug tore the power source free from the Borer.

The Borer was much less intimidating as a corpse than it was alive. With the light of its eye out and its menacing drill melted away by acid, it was nothing more than a shell full of spare mechanical parts. While Ejo left to deliver the message that it was safe to travel to the new territory, the rest of the group patched up their wounds and admired their vanquished foe. As Yamai stitched together Tempest's shoulder, a figure stumbled towards the group. The figure drew closer, and the group was able to see a swirling blue mist around an injured wildclaw. Yamai rushes forward, seemingly recognizing her, and her mouth turns up into a grin. Yamai introduces her to the warriors as his mate Veiki, who he had presumed to be dead along with the rest of their clan. Her eyes unnerve Soulseep, but Tempest's enthusiasm at meeting another Necromancer wins her over. Veiki joins her mate in helping patch up the physical wounds of the warriors, giving Acheron curious looks when she hisses at anyone who dares approach. Once Tempest and Shatterwing's injuries are treated, the group begins to clear the debris from the area in preparation to build their home there, and Veiki pats Tempest on the head with a conniving wink. "Welcome to Plague territory" she laughs, marching off to help Yamai move a tree as Tempest sneezes a few times in rapid succession and grins.
