It’s hard to tell what first spurred Aviv to leave his home. The Imperial hails from the Sunbeam Ruins, and much of his past remains indistinct. It’s easier, however, to tell what led him to the world beneath the ice: He was drawn here by the scent of gold.

Not the gold itself, waiting to be mined, but rather the promise of it, gold waiting to be earned by an enterprising clan. The strangeness of the jungle would have turned many dragons away, but the progenitors and their followers were intent on settling here. Aviv recognized the potential in their plan, and he respected it. He decided that he, too, would stay.

The progenitors have since departed, but Aviv remains. The promise of well-earned gold has been fulfilled, and he has seen his clan grow from a small, struggling band of survivors to a well-established and respected lair.

Strangers, meeting Aviv for the first time, are often intimidated by his gruffness—and his glamor. He is sumptuously garbed, gold chains lying so thickly against his scales that they whisper as he moves. His office walls are adorned with images of items that the clan desires. Aviv keeps careful track of these, for he is the clan accountant. Many of these items are valuable, and he manages the funds with an iron fist—the clan’s road to success was not cheap, and he has no wish to see them brought low due to a few incautious purchases.

The glitz is superficial, however, merely a byproduct of his successful career. Underneath the glamor, Aviv is all warmth, always ready to welcome guests and news from outside. He is particularly fascinated by modern technology: His current favorites are electronic tablets, with their ability to cram a library’s worth of manuscripts into a slim and portable space. While he doesn’t completely understand how the devices work, he always appreciates attempts to demonstrate these to him.

Aviv’s work is hard, and breaks are few and far between. In a clan as busy as this, an accountant’s work is never truly done. He doesn’t mind, however. He’s always glad to know that he had a hand in raising his clan to its current heights. He looks forward to the day when they’ll be even greater, and so he is happy to continue working with them.
