Illuminations

Illuminations has a vested interest in lighting up the night sky. She loves stars, the moon, fireflies, auroras-- anything that cuts a path of light through the dark. She and her sister Wishes have trained a herd of fireflies to fly in formation with complex choreography. They gathered a group of dragons who can sing and play instruments to provide a music backdrop for the nighttime spectacular, and now they put on weekly shows for dragons both in Wind lands and abroad.

Illuminations loves to design shows around the idea of culture. She travels far and wide to find what's beautiful about each flight (even Plague) and brings those elements to life in shows that make all spectators question any prejudices they have about other cultures. Pyrotechnics make her just a bit nervous, though; she much prefers to create bright, colorful images by lighting fires behind scenes constructed with stained glass and colorful gems. Hermia helps her design and build them.

Since she works a great deal during the nights, Illuminations tends to sleep during a great part of the day. She says that this is a small sacrifice to make to bring magic to her audiences. As long as the spectators leave the show smiling, Illuminations knows she's done her job right.
