"Why, isn't that just... pathetic."

Is that actually a dragon? Is it one of Anubis' illusions (he swears to the deities it isn't)? Was it a phantom? The clan doesn't know. But there's a dark and red Pearlcatcher in the den, seen by many at the corner of their eyes, sometimes followed by a trail of crimson glitter and the faint sound of clashing blades. She's just... there. No one knows why, or how, since she seems incorporeal, but she's always there, looking at others with disdain, making rude remarks and putting everyone else down. For those unfortunate enough to get closer, her very touch either causes severe pain and leaves a burn-like mark behind, or makes them spiral down into a panic attack, which, for the weak-minded, can get them closer to insanity. And the more turmoil she causes, the more often she appears, carrying her pearl, dark and sparkling from the twisted energy around her and the chaos she brings to others.
It's no wonder her name is Shade.
