Unfortunately, Inex suffers from a utter lack of maternal instincts, the result of having to fend for herself as a hatchling and perfectly illustrated by her inability to recognize her hatchlings as anything other than food. Her first clutch was devoured before any lair mates could intervene, and the first hatched of her second clutch was spirited off to an unknown fate by an opportunistic Lightning dragon while Inex watched. It is only by sheer luck that the next two babies were secured long enough to grow up and defend themselves.

The clan now has plans that are activated when Inex clutches: as she is forced to stay near the eggs, the Claw Squad engages her in training exercises within the clan's territory in order to keep the eggs from harm. When the first crack appears, Inex is assigned a border hunting patrol with her Prey Seeker, Raptor; the hatchlings are then able to be safely relocated to the nursery.

Prey Seeker

Raptor became partners with Inex after observing her hunting methods. Realizing that they were much the same, she ambushed an older Prey Seeker for it's Seeker's Eye, presenting it to Inex in order for Raptor to communicate the movement she sees from the sky.
