Adonia

Adonia felt caged as her egg rocked back and forth, trying to free herself from its protective shell.

Focusing all of her strength into one last push, she gave a little cry as her purple shell began tumbling backwards down a hill. The egg slammed into a jagged rock, cracked a bit and continued rolling. Adonia felt the egg gliding through the air before it landed in a river and began bobbing up and down as the current carried her away. She felt a moment of panic as she felt the ice cold water seeping in. Adonia tried to call out for help, but her shell was much too thick.

Moments later she realized that she was picking up speed, getting closer to what had originally been a dull roar. She fought harder to break her prison but her attempts proved impossible and she was thrown over the waterfall.

Her eyes flickered open, fighting the bright sun. Her memories were foggy and she couldn’t remember what had happened or how she managed to find herself here. She took a deep breath and forced her bright blue eyes open.

She hadn’t known what to expect but it hadn’t been what she was looking at. The land was tainted red, and very barren, with a faded red-orange fog hovering over the ground. A pool of green ooze bubbled a few feet away from where she was laying. There was a flutter behind her and she quickly rolled to see what it was. She watched as
