Opalescent

Opalescent is a kind, quiet being. She is observant, but reserved, mostly speaking when spoken to. She is gentle in everything she does and at all times outwardly calm, unless she's been spooked, but that doesn't happen often. She's even gotten used to nearly being stepped on. The little fae tends to stay out of conflict if it's all possible, not joining in until she's taken the time to find the correct answer or a satisfying solution.

Opalescent is Mercury's research assistant. She helps him keep track of his notes, occasionally taking them down for him, as her writing is much neater than his. She also functions as the clan's bridge between the Draconic speech and Fae Communication. Mercury challenged her, from the moment they took her in, to learn the nuances of inflection in plain Draconic. Opalescent turned out to be a natural with language, and she now speaks both Fae and plain Draconic fluently.

No one's quite sure how Opalescent found her way to Mulligan's clan, but find it she did, and rather abruptly. Murcury was out one morning, watching the sky and studying the clouds when something bumped into his chest. He almost didn't find it, it was so small, but when it chirped dazedly, he realized with a start that it was, in fact, a fae hatchling. They couldn't find her parents. Even Mulligan's sense of smell couldn't find where the hatchling belonged, so now she belongs to his clan. They all lent a hand in raising her and keeping her out of trouble, but Murcury kept the closest of eyes on her.
