Biography
Brother to Sarille | sibling kings of the Otherworld | crowned in bones and gilt-edged petals
Golden and skeletal, fearsome but gorgeous--all in opposition to his soft demeanor, while Sarille's pastel, stained-glass beauty belies his ferocity.
O deities, deny me, lay my bones to rest beneath a starless sky: I watched them come to ruin, I watched the wild folk come screaming down from the west, unearthly banners breaking free. (What could we have done in those old days, my brother?) O, shared blood newly spilt, scrape by and scapegoat the sacrilegious again; lay my body to the altar, let the rubies formed of my blood and my guilt make amends for the things which refuse my eyes passage. Here is our prayer, as the singing starts anew: let this forest be the burden to bear on my back, and let this hidden beast ne’er divine the scraps of mortality that rest before me at his feast.

============= |
Sweet hummingbird, my one, only one-- Come to my arms and make me undone. Come to my side, love, perch on my throne-- My bower of antlers, of gold-gilded bones. Soothing as sleep and a swallow of wine, Balm of my sorrows, sweet anodyne, Your lips are my prison, my choice oubliette-- Kiss me again, love, and make me forget. |
