ill omen. not quite mortal. appears near tragedy before it happens. funny little friends with shard. the clan lets them stay because they're cute, plus bad stuff doesn't actually tend to happen while they're present– only when they leave. they're hard to get answers out of at the best of times, but it's roughly understood that they can place a location or group under their protection. the rest of the world looks at them and only sees their own precarious fates reflected back, so they are often regarded with misplaced fear.
