Ariel

"Ariel" is the name of the angel of protection. Ariel's duty is to protect his Charge, Gwyneth. Ariel worries for Gwyneth, as her duty compels her to be in the front of the battle, but also acknowledges that she is a capable warrior in her own right. In addition, he will always fight alongside her. Ariel is a Caster, whose magic is mainly offensive-though he has researched spells which help him enhance Gwyneth's powers, helping her strike even faster. He will exact vengeance on those who hurt Gwyneth.

During a recent campaign in the Wind territory, Ariel protected some hatchlings of a distraught Wind clan from some Shade-possessed Serthis. As thanks, the lead mage of the Wind clan cast some runes on Ariel which inscribed themselves on his wings, augmenting his ability to defend those in need. Ariel wears his runes with pride.

Ariel had a companion, Mialee, a Rambra whom he befriended while searching for his Charge. They were great friends, but Mialee lost her life during a battle. After that, Ariel found and hatched a basilisk egg, and the two are getting along alright. The Basilisk, named Sydney, is very gruff and does not like to talk to people. Recently, Ariel and Gwyneth partook in the yearly Woodland Turkey Hunt. Though they searched, and hunted enough elk to feed the Army for weeks, they could not capture any turkeys until the final day of the Hunt. On the last day, Ariel was able to bring down a Woodland Turkey. He is quite proud of his prize, and trained the turkey, which he named Smith, to follow him around.
