Lore W.I.P
considered angellic, became estranged from Vix

fortunate things for her despite being dead
vix would fly north and frequent earth
We were young dragons attending magic university in the Starfall Isles. We were in love and wished for nothing more than eternal bliss - together.
"One day, Vix found a book. He never quite told me where he got it from. The book told of magic, spells, history, and most notably, a magic called 'Shade' magic. immortality, but only the strongest of magic users. Shade magic; unknown and unused by dragons. It told of some of these powers, like enhanced dragon magic, and the ability to animate the dead."
"Our mentors had spoken briefly about shade magic. They warned how shade magic was wicked and corrupt. Of course, even as hatchlings we had heard of tales about the long-standing battle between dragons and the Shade that took place eons ago. How great deities of each respective flight - our creators - fought to seal away the Shade. I don't think anyone really believed in the existence of Shade or shade magic. No one in recent times has even seen a deity."
Vix grew curious.
"The book never spoke ill of dark magic. It did, however, teach about the history of dark magic and warned what could happen if it fell into the wrong claws. It told tales of undead armies that could not be killed, how decade-long wars were waged pitting these creatures that refused to die against each other. It tore dragonkind apart. I suppose that was what made it so feared."
He knew it was forbidden.
"I was skeptical. Skeptical of the book and its tales, but even I could not deny what I saw. Ever since he found that cursed book, he changed. He became obsessed with dark magic. He spent all day and all night reading, and studying, and practicing. I watched him wield these dark shadowy tendrils. I saw how his magic seemed to grow more powerful with each passing day. Soon, he became obsessed with the idea of eternal life."
perform such a spell
Vix was top of his class. He was an Arcane dragon, and he was naturally gifted with magic.
"Vix read of a spell that could grant immortality. It said that a powerful magic user that was able to harness dark magic could be cast to grant the the user eternal life. Vix and I wanted to live together, forever. And the spell seemed to work. Well, for Vix, anyway. He was skilled with arcane magic. I, however, was killed in the process. I recall the spell became too much, and all I can remember was an overwhelming darkness that seeped into my flesh. The shadows seemed alive in the way that they grasped and consumed me. And then I awoke. Vix was gone, and I can only assume I had become one of those undead soldiers."
"You are the product of his foolishness," Reinar remarked.
"I suppose I am indeed one of those undead soldiers, yes. In the book, it said that the soldiers would only die permanently once the user who cast the spell ceases." Thea looked past the horizon sadly.
"Vix is still out there.
I await his return."
