Leffis was hatched on the Sornieth New Year, brought into the world by a pair of serthis. The serthis - having found his egg floating through the warm waters of the Viridian Labyrinth - decided to keep him; they raised him betwixt the shores of Dragonhome and the Viridian Labyrinth, where the water was warm and plants grew abuntantly.

His serthis caretakers taught him of poisons and venoms as well as of herbs and healing. By his adolescent years, he could name all of the flora and fauna that resided along the shores with him.

Upon reaching adulthood, he felt a stirring in him, a deep-set wanderlust that made him stray farther and farther from home each passing day. The serthis understood, for they once too were wanderers. So Leffis left, taking along a companion - Eggmont, a red tail boa - and some wares to sell, and he traveled. First, he journeyed through much of the Viridian Labyrinth, meeting new dragons and beasts alike, selling his medicines and poisons for food and coin. From there, he passed through the Sunbeam Ruins and the Tangled Woods until he came to Dragonhome.

Inland of Dragonhome was nothing like the warm, sunny shores had been; it was dry, windy, and often grew cold. Still, his wanderlust drove him on. In his travel's through the Earthshaker's domain, he found a lovely little oasis situated at the mouth of Greatwyrm's Breach. Lush, tall palms hid the sparkling waters within, and colorful wildflowers flourished upon the oasis's sandy banks. It reminded him strongly of home, so there he settled, at least until his wanderlust struck him once more.
