Alhena is very much the "face" of the clan; her job is to write correspondence, communicate, organize tasks, and serve as ambassador for Clan Shikoire. Many in the clan refer to her as the clan's secretary. This title is absolutely correct. Because of the nature of Alhena's work (that is, work which involves a great order of paper and paperwork), she spends a lot of her time in the Library, conversing with Lestriell. Between Alhena's friendly facade and Lestriell's expert organizational abilities, they keep the politics and paperwork of the clan in order. Alhena detests the notion of merely being a pretty face and a friendly smile, however. When not serving as an ambassador or diplomat, she can be seen patrolling about the Lair or standing guard outside. Her purpose for this is twofold; one, should emissaries from other clans arrive, Alhena is able to quickly greet them and make certain that an important guest's arrival is pleasant, and two, should trouble arrive on their doorstep, Alhena is able to quickly greet it and make certain that said trouble is squashed at the door. Fiercely loyal and fiercely capable in battle, Alhena does everything in her power to ensure the safety of her clan, both from battle and from negotiation. When not at home (an unfortunate circumstance of her job, as she loathes not being at home), Alhena practices her skills in socialization, business, and flattery, should a situation call for the latter. Quite adept at reading people, if somewhat guarded herself, Alhena often quite quickly picks up the best way to act or what to say to produce a favorable outcome for herself or her clan. Some may say that she has a silver tongue; Alhena says she merely knows what dragons like to hear. |
