Biography
Somehow, the son of a dragon torn between being an artist and a warrior, and a dragon so mystically-inclined and dreamy it's a miracle she remembers to eat, has turned out incredibly practical and level-headed.
Daelan is organised and efficient in so many ways, and can often be found tidying up and putting various small objects into the most reasonable order possible.
He remembers schedules and plans as though he has a calendar in his head - but his heart?
Oh dear, his heart.
It flutters at the thought of being with someone special, of having a life with love throughout.
Naturally, this is so sentimental that he doesn't tend to admit it unless he trusts people. He wants to be seen as the organiser, the sensible one, so he tucks his sentiments away until he knows that the one listening won't laugh.
But, he didn't find that one, that one that didn't laugh when he shared his feelings, CarnelianSeraph only interested in Gossip and RubyGleam was, missing something? He was fond of the red, but. He clutched a goodbye present from his flitty friend Hibiscus, half a broken geode, and followed the sun.
Over the waters and to the Veridian Labyrinth.
He heard the racious sounds of laughing and singing, and decided to take a look. Two guardians , their patterns could but match the golden shore, sat drinking grog over what looked like a pile of loot. As soon as they saw him the female stepped forward, obviously curious.
" Shadow eh? Wotcher doin' round these parts?"
"Looking for, er, someone, i suppose." He said, trying to mask his feelings. She seemed to life her head, her ear frills perking to what sounded like a, somekind of whistle on the wind. A whistle? She nodded and looked back. " She wants 'im, lets move out." She turned away and , well, he followed. She chinned him onto her back and guided them through the many mazelike streams of the Labyrinth.
As she swum two shadowy forms joined them, keeping just under the water. He didn't know wether to be afraid or, comforted? All the while the sound of the whistle got louder and louder, stopping suddenly when they got to a mirror still lake.
"'old yer breath." She grined, diving down. It was no ordinary water, it was balck and heavy and it pulled! But as suddenly as they had dived he was, up?
He was standing on the surface of the mirror lake, just as calm, but he was alone now. Except, her. The Ridgeback female sat patiently on the surface, waiting for him. A wind blew , bringing words, her words, to his ears. " Walk with me."
He strode over the water with her as she spoke to him, fae dragons flittering about to rest on his wings and tuck flowers into them. She explained he was needed here, that he was sent by her goddess Danu, and fated to be part of this clan. Did he feel he was supposed to be here? If so, step onto the land and be trapped in paradise forever, if not dive again and be escorted to the shores.
He stepped onto land and suddenly a stone on his wrist appeared. A copper and labradorite bracelet, with a rune inscribed. He turned to inquire what it was, but sha had gone. He was of Tir na nOg now, a little slice of paradise.
He was getting used to the pond dragons moving from hollow to hollow, when he saw a small mirror berating one hurriedly, throwing sticks onto one of its wings. Approaching he furrowed his brows. " Why are you throwing sticks?"
"He will not move, Chrysemys, move please you are sleeping on my research!" The Mirror squeaked and squawked, but got nowhere. Dae blinked. " Er, pardon me, sir pond, would you mind, er, relocating? I saw your mate just over the hill, i'm sure she would not mind making a bigger pond with you there." He nodded. The pond took up and moved its bulk away slowly, revealing a pile of sticks and twigs, looking a little mashed. The Mirror looked reverently up at him. " I am, Sero. Come! I will show you what i have been researching!"
He slid into the depression, obviously used often by the pond dragons, but the little mirror had chosen it as his spot. Sero excitedly explained his work, and something about the passion in his eyes, all four of them, made Dae laugh. They spoke much of it, Dae mostly listening, and by the time the sun had set Sero nodded.
" I like, you, what is your name." It was more of a demand. " Daelan." He replied
"Daelan, welcome to Paradise. Report tomorrow at sunrise and we will continue our experiment. Sleep well." He handed the Imperial a stick and skittered erratically away. Daelan would return tomorrow, and set the foundation for a friendship that would bloom into love.
They can now be found together, the mirror tucked under his wing, getting so excited as he speaks that he must adjust his hat, and making his new love laugh to no end at his antics. When Dae speaks he listens, for, his feelings are only truly shared with his love.
