Biography
Maahes: Egyptian god of war and protection (also the devouring of captives).
Clan Judge
Unforgiving, harsh, strong, stubborn, unfriendly.
In the brutal frozen wasteland of the Icefields, Maahes was born and immediately scorned. His color made him stand out among the white and blue of the land, making both games with other children difficult and hunting impossible. For his misfit nature, the young Imperial was shunned by the other young dragons and given no sympathy by the adults.
Upon adulthood, Maahes left his home in search of a place more accepting of his appearance and stumbled upon the just-as-harsh wasteland of Plague. Here, he would be shunned for an entirely different reason: for his resemblance to the Poltergeist, a subspecies of Plague dragon that brought unrest to many in the region. After a while, Maahes quit trying to join clans and lived alone, believing this his lot in life.
As he wandered, Maahes accidentally made shelter for the night on territory ruled by Scythe. The sinister Ridgeback came upon the lonely Imperial and, instead of outright attacking him or fearing him, offered him a position in the clan. In Scythe's logic, his resemblance to the Poltergeist made him a fittingly terrifying member, thus keeping unruly dragons in line or warning unfriendly dragons away. Feeling respected for the first time in his life, Maahes accepted. His experience with being judged for his appearance turned his personality sour, but coupled with years of observing while sitting on the sidelines gave him insight into the behavior of others. Though Scythe has final say, Maahes has become the judge of the clan, deciding the fate of those who have committed fatal wrongs. Ironically, the mate to his daughter, Deimos, is the one who enacts the punishments he orders.
Mated to Menhit.
