"It's kill or be killed in this world."

Thorn was born to a small, vicious clan within the Rotrock Rim. Although she was playful and sweet at the beginning of her life, her former clan quickly squashed that out, always serious and often cruel. Her clan didn't have much in the way of food and resources, and their struggles and hunger always made them quick to snap when a hatchling pounced their tail or tried to sneak an extra serving of dinner. In fact, they often took food from those unable to defend themselves, which meant that Thorn, and some of the other few hatchlings, often went to bed hungry. Although Thorn's mother defended her when she could, she was frail and weaker than most of the others.

And thus, Thorn grew up learning to defend herself and be quick. When at first she would play with her fellow hatchlings, she broke off from them and grew bitter and angry like her older clanmates. But she was only a year old when her rival was born; a green imperial hatchling who was deemed Gerathon. Unlike Thorn, Gerathon was not born with any sweetness in her then small body; she seemed to absorb the energy of their broken clan as if it where a second element.

372.png Gerathon learned the ropes of self defense even faster than Thorn did, but Thorn still had the advantage of experience and size on her side. It did not stay this way for long; Thorn was stronger and bigger and faster for a couple years, but Gerathon quickly reached her level as she grew. They fought many times, Thorn winning some and losing others. This stayed this way for another couple years, until the clan finally burned itself out and disbanded after a particularly vicious free-for-all that left much of the clean injured or worse. Most of the remaining dragons where the younger ones, like Gerathon and Thorn, but they left to find their own lives.

But Thorn has always had a way of learning about the happenings of Sornieth, and it was easy for her to learn about the takeover of a particular shadow clan in the Tangled Wood. The description of the imperial tyrant sounded familiar, and before she could think twice about it, she was off to meet her former rival. After some threats and a scuffle that ended in a tie, they decided to join forces and rule after the clan together; after all, Thorn is one of the few dragons that could ever be a threat to Gerathon, and Gerathon would prefer for her to be on her side. Although, whether either of them trusts the other is still to be seen.

  • Thorn has very little empathy; if you can't fight against whatever is happening, you deserve it. Or, at least, that's her mindset.
  • Her Death Seeker's name is Thorn II. She isn't creative.
  • She doesn't care much for any animals, besides Thorn II.
  • Thorn will commonly hoard food and is usually among the first to eat when she's in a group.

Role in the Takeover
Thorn is Gerathon's assistant, nearly as bloodthirsty and powerful as her, although it's unknown if she's truly on her side or loyal to Gerathon.
