Biography
With her goal completed, Nemesis didn't know what to do with herself.
Her children had long grown up and moved away. She didn't want to return to the Everbloom Gardens. She wandered the length and breadth of Sornieth, utilizing her talents of revenge when asked to do so, but never staying in one place for long.
Finally, back in the Starfall Isles, she came across Hale.
He turned her whole world upside-down.
Despite the suspicion she always carried in the back of her mind, Nemesis couldn't help but be flattered by Hale's attention, his charming compliments. He truly seemed to care about her opinion, her well-being.
He invited her back to his home lair, promising a future. And she fell for it: his promises that she could raise a warm and caring family, leave her bitter past behind her...
How wrong she was.
She was greeted warmly enough upon her arrival in Deoradhan-Kunibert, but... Well. She was attuned to deception. It didn't take her long to figure out that Hale was with another Nocturne.
Why did she not abandon him at that revelation? That should have been enough to gain her everlasting animosity, to make her his worst enemy.
...But. He took her beach-combing in his native homeland.
Or maybe his son was the reason that she couldn't destroy him utterly, mind and soul. Cupid was too sweet, too kind... too loving.
But then he had the gall to have children with an Imperial.
She could - perhaps - forgive his coupling with that Nocturne. But he saw her anger - her pain - and he broke her heart all over again anyway.
This time she did not hesitate: she unleashed her full fury upon him - every tactic she'd developed to drive Charisma away, she now threw at Hale two - three - four-fold. She even used her talons. Jamsheed had been merciful. Nemesis was not: she took the eye the Guardian had so graciously allowed Hale to keep.
But she didn't kill him: she let him beat a retreat from her wrath. Maybe he would actually learn something out there in the Reedcleft Ascent.
