HISTORY
(...) Lyra smiled, it calmed Zyra almost instantly, warmth filling her heart until she was unknowingly smiling back. “I’m trying to find a place that I might fit in, or in the least be left alone. All I want is to help others.” Lyra began to cough, catching her breath before she continued “My, excuse me. I’ve had this cough for what seems like a month now, it’s been a curse to get rid of.” Zyra nodded understanding the troubles of a horrible cold. For the rest of the day they sat there, just talking about where they had come from, and where they planned to go. They decided to become traveling partners, hoping to find a new lair, village, or clan for them both to live, figuring it would be better to have one friend than none. Besides, who didn’t want a traveling partner, in the scary woods. The two partners traveled together for months, and eventually fell in love. Zyra would do anything for Lyra, and likewise, Lyra would do anything for Zyra. They were best friends, and now that they were lovers nothing would split them up. Soon after founding their own clan, Lyra’s coughing fits came back, she often fainted and knowing nothing about medicine, aside from simple remedies Lyra taught her, Zyra was forced to do business with a black magic sorceress. Lyra hadn’t woken in weeks, and Zyra was desperate to see her loves eyes once more. The days passed, and the sorceresses curse began to show the day Lyra’s eyes opened. Discovering Zyra’s sacrifice, Lyra’s love grew even more for her mate, at the same time she was over taken with sorrow, knowing that one day, because of her own illness she would no longer have her mate. Zyra had made an agreement with the sorceress, her body was going to change dramatically, she would eventually become incased with stone. It was a welcome fate to save her love, she wouldn’t change her decision a thousand times over. She looked at her love every day, growing stronger as her body grew weaker. She pushed herself to stroll by her mate’s side, where she was most content. (Written by MissFizzle!)
