Biography
Valentin turned and brushed past the fabric of Valyria's cave. She'd better get some rest he thought, glancing toward the cold sunrise on the horizon. He took a deep breath and sent up a prayer to his adopted deity, and his birth deity for good measure, that they would find the truth about this whole tragic mess. He dropped his eyes to a huddled crimson form perched atop a pillar Soon, please. For all our sakes. He turned away and began the walk toward the edge of the clan's everyday space, where Nyx was surely still poring over every scrap of information that had been gleaned by the combined efforts of the clan's sharpest minds and strongest fighters. He shook his head slowly, suddenly acutely aware of the weight of his pearl, the feeling of the dust beneath his claws. Valyria's not the only one who needs to rest, you idiot. He shook himself and increased his pace. He would sleep when Valyria returned. Probably.
He had slowed again by the time he rounded the entrance into their workspace, but his eyes followed their habitual path across the large slate where Nyx was recording their progress. He was there now, and as he shifted Valentin's eyes caught in their usual pattern as he noticed a new fragment, in a space that had been left blank since the beginning of their search. Two words, but they seemed to have inspired his friend to new heights of busyness as he scribbled wildly across the board: Sunset Order. He hardly dared breathe as he moved over toward the board, eyes fixed on what was their first real lead since this had all started as though it would disappear if he blinked. He must have made some sound, because Nyx turned to look at him as he moved across the space.
"Masque found the name in a shadowy corner of the ruins. Apparently, Stefan used to be involved with them, and they're not big on anyone leaving the group."
"I see," Valentin felt his voice chilling at the thought of those who would hunt down those who chose a different path that caused no harm to anyone.
