Biography

Raja
Though her egg was laid in a nest within the Sea of a Thousand Currents, it was nestled alongside a volcanic vent. Most of her birth-clan fled when they felt the water begin to warm around them and saw steam rise from fissures appearing in the ocean-floor around them. Her parents, desperate to save their first clutch gathered as many of the eggs as they could within their talons. In the frenzied moments before the volcano deep beneath their nesting grounds erupted, one egg was left behind. As fate would have it, Raja's was the only egg left on the rapidly destabilizing ocean-floor. In time, lava burst forth and shot skyward, grazing the thin shell of her egg before quickly destroying what little protection it once offered her. The hatchling within was sure-to-be doomed...

By some miracle, Raja survived... Abandoned by her own parents, the Flamecaller spared her when she should have perished. The lava that hastened her hatching still seeps from her hide even now, coating her claws and oozing slowly from the spines upon her back. Though she is deeply bound to the Tidelord by birth, an even deeper connection binds her to the Flamecaller, to whom she owes her life.

Raja enjoys digging and excavating like others of her breed. Her skill is unmatched by many due to her acquired ability to excrete lava. Over her lifetime she has learned to hone this magical skill, and though her innate abilities may have once been stronger in the realm of water, she has developed a stronger connection with the scarce bit of fire that she was touched with as a hatchling. With lava at her disposal, she can quickly bore through earth that would take others hour. Only skilled mages from the Earth flight can match her speed and skill in excavation.

As clan Lykos formed and continued to grow, it became clear that they could not continue to exist within the small cluster of caves that had been carved out of the walls of the Carrion Canyon. It is thanks to Raja's oversight that the clan's lair now exists beneath the surface of the Shifting Expanse, comprised entirely of underground tunnels and caverns large enough to house the entirety of the clan. Though the clan's growth has slowed, excavation never ceases. There are always projects to be completed, refinements to be made, improvements to be discovered. Raja takes great pride over the clan's lair and it's maintenance and construction continues to be her livelihood.
