Specialising in burns, Starling's expertise comes in handy as the clan's medic. She is cheerful, warm and efficient. She has taken the opportunity to study electricity-based injuries, such as the patterns made in skin by the path of lightning.

Her arrival at the clan was dampened by the presence of a huge sinister figure, later revealed to be her partner Ambrose. Though he is the most intimidating dragon in the clan, he does not let his (unwelcome?) presence disrupt Starling's work.
