xxxxxxxxxxxx For most of her life, Celozon waded through life without a purpose. She had no parents or friends that she knew of, no relatives who could guide her along her path, all she had was the breeze whispering through the trees, and the shattered remains of a water egg. It didn’t take long for the young dragon to realize how utterly alone she was, and how completely vulnerable she was, before she was up and scurrying, heading for the safest spot she could think of: amidst the shadows.

She grew up fearing the open, fearing her fate if she was ever caught, and lived a quiet life among the trees. Shy of others of her kind, Celozon slowly became acquainted with the animals of this domain, a mixture of creatures large and small. Some wanderers who caught sight of her called her the animal whisperer, though they never caught more than a few glimpses before she faded from view, as if she’d never been there.

As time passed, Celozon began branching out from the small glade she called home, exploring her surroundings with her animal friends. These escapades started out as little more than a few hours at a time, though, gaining confidence, they began spending days, sometimes weeks, outside of their home territory.

It was during one of these excursions that they came across a settlement of Beastclans. Curious, and feeling brave, Celozon and her friends approached the village, unaware of their danger until it was too late. With a squeal and a snap, the trap was sprung and her friends were whipped into the air, dangling in a net. Celozon panicked. She tried desperately to free her friends, each attempt failing just as badly as the last.

At the sound of approaching voices, her friends chattered at her to leave, to run away, to save herself. And she did just that. She didn’t consider herself a coward; after all, she was following the advice of her friends. But as she burst through the underbrush, clawing her way through vines and thorns, she couldn’t help the stab of guilt in her chest, or her stinging eyes.

How long she wandered, Celozon didn’t know. The sun had long set by that point. She continued moving, shoving blindly through the forest, her eyes squinting in the dark gloom.

But as she traveled, the ground became less firm, more soggy, and with each step, she was finding it increasingly difficult to keep her footing. Her foot sunk deep into the mud as she moved, dragging her down, as if it were asking her to just take a break, to rest a while.

And after a bit, she did just that. Falling to her knees, half covered in mud, Celozon refused to move any longer. What was the point? Her friends were gone, she was far away from her home, why should she keep going?

Celozon closed her eyes.

Hopefully death would come to her quickly.

xxxxxxxxxxxx “Do you remember,” she said suddenly, looking over at the magenta Snapper, a bouquet of flowers in her arms, “when you first found me?”

Reginald paused for a second, puzzled, allowing the already gathered flowers to fall from his grasp. “I remember I nearly tripped over ye,” he said after a moment. “Couldn’t figure out what the giant pink lump was ‘til I realized ‘twas a dragon.”

Celozon laughed quietly, ducking as she plucked some more flowers from the ground, adding them to her already overflowing pile. “I was covered in mud and it was dark out, it’s no wonder you didn’t see me.”

“I saw your beauty,” Reginald said, smiling as he bowed, presenting her with a flower.

Laughing, Celozon accepted it, adding it to her growing pile. “I’m surprised you stuck with me for so long. Those first few weeks...” She shook her head. “I don’t think I spoke a single word then.”

“Ye di’in’t,” he agreed. “I remember Mez was nearabout ready to knock ye over your head if you didn’t start actin’ like a real dragon soon.”

“She did.”

“Did she?” Reginald asked, surprised, before laughing, shaking his head. “Should’ve known she wouldn’t take my advice. Never was one to listen to others, that one.”

“Her methods aren’t the best,” Celozon agreed, staring down at the bundle of flowers in her arms, “but it helped. After the long lecture she gave me, well... she made me realize there was no point brooding. After all, sometimes bad things happen and you can’t change that. All that matters is how you move forward from it.” She paused, scrutinizing a bent flower. “And as soon as I left the den, I saw you sitting there, waiting for me.” Smiling then, she placed the flower among the others. “You never did give up on me, even when Avis and the others did long ago. Why?”

For a moment, Reginald didn’t respond, but then he smiled at her and said: “I loved ye as soon as I laid eyes on ye.”

Celozon blushed, ducking to pluck another flower. “You’re such a flirt,” she mumbled, but when she looked at him, her eyes were shining.

“C’mon,” Reginald said gruffly, “we better ‘ead back. The others’re probably waitin’ for us.”

“Oh," she replied. “Of course. Peanut's probably grouchy that she hasn't had her morning meal yet, and the others probably aren't any better.”

"Too many animals," he muttered, but she laughed, nudging him.

"Admit it, you love them too."

"I do," he said quietly, "as much as I love you."

P e r s o n a l i t y
Celozon is kind and compassionate. She has a soft spot for animals and is often seen with a parade of animal companions following after her. She spends most of her days in an oblivious haze, often not realizing things right before her eyes without someone pointing it out to her. Due to her less than ideal upbringing, Celozon often doesn't understand normal dragon behavior, which causes her to avoid crowds and to mostly hang out with her animal friends. Most of her day is spent feeding and caring for her herd of animals, and the rest of her day is spent hanging out with her husband (Not mate, never mate), Reginald.

Celozon fears abandonment above all else, and she compensates by having mostly animals as friends instead of dragons. Animals are simpler, easier, and they're not liable to just leave if she doesn't understand something or makes a mistake.

She likes the simple things in life. Likes spending her days just wandering and picking flowers. She's gets joy from the smallest of things (Kindness from a stranger, a pretty flower, or just the turn of the season), and doesn't bother with any dragon politics or other quarrels. She's just a simple loner, friendly to everyone and anything.

That said, Celozon often sees the best in everyone, giving people second, third, or even twentieth chances. She forgives too easily, thinks most rude or distasteful actions towards her are from accidents or something she provoked. It's easy to take advantage of her kindness, and even easier to manipulate her. Though, if she realizes she was being manipulated, or comes home crying, dragons are to be aware that her husband isn't quite so naive, and is sure to get revenge.

H i s t o r y
Celozon never knew her parents or her birthplace. She hatched alone and spent her entire life alone, surrounded by animals. (See above for more detailed history).

After fleeing for her life, Celozon wandered across this clan purely by chance. Reginald was the first dragon to see her, and he nursed her back to health. He stayed by her despite her depression and cold attitude, and it was only after a few months that Celozon really began to blossom. She found Reginald funny and sweet, liked spending time with him and listening to his attempts at poetry. And as time passed, she began a new hoard of animals, taking in strays and helping them as much as she could. Reginald often jokes that she has too many, but Celozon always brushes him off in favor of the newest stray to her family.

M i s c e l l a n e o u s
No one really understands how Celozon is able to stand Reginald, and whenever she sighs longingly after him, the others are never sure if they should be concerned or exasperated. There're rumors that Reginald's taking advantage of her, but are unfounded on account of lack of evidence (And Reginald is always seen wooing Celozon whenever he can). Efforts to sway Celozon to see the truth (Not only in her husband's activities, but also the shady acts of other clan members) are always unsuccessful. Celozon is forever naive and nothing can change her mind.

On that note, Celozon doesn't understand the lines drawn in the clan, and often laments that she just wants to be friends with everyone, even if some of the clan members are involved in less than legal activities. Worried that she'll wander into dangerous situations, a few dragons make it their duty to ensure she's alright and are always quick to draw her away from the dens of shadier dragons.

Celozon isn't friends with anyone but her animal companions, and her husband is the only dragon she's truly close to. But she considers everyone her friends, and she often has tea parties with a select few dragons (Mez, Moyes, Phantom)
