There was little to say about him.

Unremarkable, unmemorable. Pacey was normal in every way possible. He did his own thing, ignoring everyone around him, and they did the same. A cursory glance, a raised eyebrow, but nothing more.

A gravedigger, they said, eyes mocking, voices dismissive. Can you believe anyone would do such a dirty job?

They never seemed to noticed the way Pacey's eyes flashed at their comments, lips twitching in a mockery of a smile. They never noticed the way they fell ill afterwards, nightmares clawing at their minds, immeasurable pain coursing through their veins, body writhing, throat raw. Then come a few days... their symptoms would disappear. Gone. A freak illness. A strange bug.

Coincidence.

It wasn't as if Recher was anything remarkable. A gravedigger. Quiet, unassuming. He plodded through life without a care in the world. And no one spared him a second glance.

It was just a coincidence.

P e r s o n a l i t y
Pacey's unremarkable. He's never wanted any attention to himself, he's content to just let himself fade into the background. He's that quiet kid in the back of the class that no one pays attention to, the one that no one really notices. He does his job without complaint, and it might not be glamorous or cool, but that's fine, it's his. Not everyone can be a rocket scientist or an evil mastermind, the normal jobs have to get done too, you know?

He also might be a bit of a psychopath. Just a little bit. Maybe. Psychopath isn't a listed disorder in the DSM-V, so whatever he is, it's not official. And ya know, that's just how Pacey would like it. Unofficial means no one is looking.

Pacey's a bit petty though, and he's got a mean streak. It's just, don't get on his bad side, let him do his thing and you do your thing, and everything's perfectly fine. If you don't, then uh... yeah, have fun with that. Don't say no one warned you.

H i s t o r y
No one's sure what Pacey's history is, and Pacey never talks about it. In fact, Pacey barely talks at all so it's not really a surprise no one knows about him. It's clear he came from Nature—unless he somehow magically changed his eye color, and somehow no one else figured out how he did it—but aside from that, it's a bit of a mystery. It is a bit weird that he's a Nature dragon that became a grave digger because aren't Nature dragons supposed to be all happy and flowers and trees and and carnivorous plants that swallow people whole? And not, ya know, death and dirt? Though dirt is definitely part of nature. And death can be part of nature too with the whole cycle of life thing. So you know what, maybe this job isn't that weird.

Pacey's neighbors with Phantom, and even though the two barely talk aside from the cursory greetings, there's something there. A miniscule thing. Like, if Pacey's house burned down, you bet that Phantom would do her best to help out as all good neighbors should. And if Phantom's house was randomly struck by lightning (which isn't as uncommon as you'd think), Pacey would do absolutely nothing about it. In fact, Pacey would probably watch it happen from the safe confines of his own home, shrug, and then go over a few days later, slip an artifact he dug up into Phantom's mailbox with a, "Sorry your house got struck by lightning. Again." card tied to it. It wouldn't help Phantom at all, but at least it'd be cool to look at? Kinda?
