Venti
Scales Member, Healer *melodramatic sigh* aaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaa aaaaaa aaaaaaaaaa aaaaaaaa |
Blown in by the wind, Venti earned his way to the clan's good graces via the art of making hot chocolate. This might not sound like a big deal, but considering the regular Aequitian beverage usually contains water with more water, hot chocolate was a welcomed change. Especially as this means the Aequitians will no longer have to rely on the Karma Cafe for expensive leaf water for a treat. Of course, not even really good hot chocolate is enough to earn a place in the clan. (It totally is.) Thus, Venti is also a mage and healer, fighting alongside Veles and Netjeri in their team and healing his clanmates when they end up on the wrong side of their own cauldrons. His healing skills are greatly revered as him playing healer means the rest of the clan doesn't have to go to Nephthys to get themselves treated, and everyone likes spending less time around Nephthys. When he's not healing dragons struck by the curse of stupidity, Venti is out in the field, keeping the Beastclans as bay. While the Scales was originally skeptical about taking in a Wind dragon, especially after the whole Battle of the Bay fiasco, some quick thinking and well-placed duals on Venti's part got him a job as one of the guards of the clan. Taking a job in the Scales means making another dragon lose their job, and the other dragon in this particular equation was Isfet. Not that Venti has noticed, though, having taken Isfet's death threats and various pranks as part of the daily Arcane pursuit of knowledge and general weirdness. However, he's starting to wonder whether or not he should tell Isfet that some of his pranks could seriously injure someone. After getting closer to his clanmates, Venti also took up the role of a peacemaker. Other dragons tend to listen to him, whether because they respect him for being part of the Scales, or because they don't want to be on the other end of a magical bolt. Not that Venti always uses brute strength to end fights, he'd actually prefer talking his clanmates out of beating each other into the ground, but he's found that some dragons need a more solid reminder that Muffin's cauldron is dangerous and you should never put another dragon in it. |

However, despite all that, you can't say that Venti has no enemies. Being part of the clan's military demands strict discipline and obedience, but Venti isn't above breaking the rules. He has a bit of a ruthless streak when it comes to protocol. Usually, this means that if it's stopping him from doing something he wants, he's breaking it, stepping over it, and setting it on fire. Want to punish him? No, sorry, you'll take that back now or he'll erase your existence from the face of Sorneith. This make him clash with the one dragon in the clan who actually cares about rules - Ma'at, leader of the Scales, one of the clan leaders. Or, in a nutshell, the one dragon you'd rather not tick off. The only reason Ma'at hasn't tossed him out of the clan is because he's marginally more useful than Nephthys in situations that require healing. Of course, that doesn't stop her from bringing it up whenever the four leaders have a meeting. Unfortunately, Venti is on the good side of both Kraken and Demeter (because he makes really good hot chocolate), so it's unlikely she'll succeed anytime soon. Her threat is still valid, though, and the moment he messes up, Ma'at has a pretty good shot at booting him out and getting him killed, and not necessarily in that order. To try to show Ma'at that despite his disregard for some rules (meaning all of them), he's still a valuable member of the clan, Venti picked up a friendly relationship with Veles and Mythic. Veles likes Venti a lot, because that small little Skydancer from the Wind Flight is really nice and goes fight those big bad guys in the Kelp Beds for him. The two of them can make a pretty cutthroat team when they want to be, usually with Venti being the brains and Veles being the brawn. Of course, if Netjeri's involved, they're both content with being the brawn. There's one rule Venti will absolutely stick to, and that's to never second guess Netjeri. She might not look like it, but she comes up with the best plans, especially when cupcakes are involved. Venti's relationship with Mythic, on the other hand, is... complicated. Mythic is technically Venti's first friend and the one who taught him how to socially, mostly by singling Venti out every chance he got and chatting up with him. At the time, Venti thought Mythic was just immature, because he was literally bouncing off the walls, but after a while, he found himself tolerating the Noc and even looking forward to chatting up with him. But Mythic's changed after his incident. The Nocturne became withdrawn, smiles never reaching his eyes, forcing Venti to take up the role of the enthusiastic wall bouncer Mythic used to be. It's not enough, though, and Venti knows it. Not being able to do anything to heal his best friend, Venti has sworn he'll find the culprit and hunt him or her down. Oh, his revenge shall be terrible. He'll tie the perpetrator to kites and channel different directional winds into each kite. Either way, it'll be creative, painful, and messy. (He doesn't know it's Isfet, but it's a matter of time before he finds out, because really, Isfet isn't that good at covering up his tracks.) One last dragon Venti has interacted with is Viper. He'll never admit that he likes her, but everyone knows that's the only reason he lets that rattlesnake sit on his shoulder. Her name is Cinna and she keeps track of the potions in his satchels during missions and is his assistant when he's healing other dragons. Also, the snake makes for a pretty terrifying opponent. She does have a flaw though, because she insists on rattling her tail like a dysfunctional robot, which means you'll always hear Venti coming. |

She's the ever-changing wind,
A gust of clean crisp air, Roaring through the living room, And tousling up your hair. She whistles through the doorways, As she sails right down the hall, Dancing through the golden leaves, That mark the end of Fall. But like the frozen winter wind, She bends to no one's will, |

Some days she's a hurricane,
And other days she's still. There are moments when her laughter, Could give flight to paper planes, But her silence could convince you, Trees will never sway again. She'll push clouds out of the sky, And stir the wildest seas, No matter how you know her, You cannot predict her breeze. ~ e.h. |
