Bandersnatch

a mysterious miscreant who appears without warning and speaks in nonsensical rhymes. his presence always puts bystanders on edge, for he is known to create problems and waste valuable time. what’s worse, he often makes his entrance by scaring the living soul out of his chosen victims by suddenly springing forth with a shrill, frightening laugh, his unsettling grin on full display.

arcturus and some others attempted to kill him at one point, but as his life force weakened, his visage reportedly grew more and more terrifying until his assailants were forced to back off, unable to handle the horrible image that persisted even when they closed their eyes. fortunately for them, the image was forgotten immediately after, but the memory of how terrifying it was remained—a warning to not attempt the same thing twice.

reluctant to waste resources on more drastic methods, the dragons of the clan managed to sequester him to a remote area of the territory with strategically placed binding spells. any dragons passing through may get a nasty surprise, so the zone may find use as a punishment for unpleasant guests in the future.
