After Byrne began keeping an ever growing number of skeps near the lair he needed help guarding them. He asked Majel for her help to curb any forays on their growing honey stores from raiders with a sweet tooth. To Byrne's amazement Majel allowed some of the drones to build honeycomb on her to carry them & their own energy supply as they accompany her on her patrols. They haven't been needed to back her up but they are always ready to deploy to protect their queen & hives.
