 		Aether comes from an important line within the clan of Sylvhurst. Compared to his sisters, Aether was a sort of a surprise to his parents. He's considered the runt of the family, and both of his sisters and the rest of his extended relatives are fairly protective over him. Given his family's history of magical prowess, it was surprising that it took Aether so long to develop his powers.

He was just hitting the period where a dragon would be considered an adult when he began to show signs. Perseus was the first to be able to sense something within Aether, and soon enough the other mages in the clan could too. However, Aether's magic refused to manifest.

After a month of waiting, Aether finally showed the first sign of his magical talent. There was an argument, and Aether was right in the middle of it. As it dragged on, his magic flared, and he screamed at the other participant to 'Shut up and go away!'. Instantly, the other dragon's mouth snapped shut and he turned to leave. He was only stopped when Aether's shock and surprise withdrew the spell.

It took Perseus a week to find a book about the type of magic his son was exhibiting, and Andromeda took about two weeks to track down another Compulsion mage to teach her more about it. This mentor took Aether under her wing, and trained him intensely for months, until Aether had enough control for her to leave.

Aether tries not to use his power as he did once, but it's still fairly common for people around Aether to be suspiciously in agreement with him. Azraea and Arguim were happy to take him on as a diplomat given his family and his powers that could help achieve better relationships with allied clans.

Now, Aether lives in a bright house in the Mage's quarter. He is always adorned with bright jewelry and commutes to his office near the Crown Tree where he works with other diplomats from allied clans.
