______ Once there was a time when the gods walked Sornieth and created many things. During this time the gods were classified by their prowess and strength, the highest among then, the Lifegiver, was the strongest, most powerful.
Her first creations were the Sornieth we dragons now call home, and the gods and spirits. Some of those gods and spirits, we now follow, but back then there were many, more than any one dragon could imagine our small patch of world could sustain.

______ Now, the Lifegiver eventually made more things, but not before eight of her children terrorized Sornieth. The Lifegiver's children made many creatures, most of which are now long dead and unknown to modern day dragons,
but these creations lived off of the magic that was produced by the spirits and gods, yes the Lifegiver too. This upset her children, since only the Lifegiver could create life independent of magic. Upon this discovery, the Lifegiver's children started fighting and killing each other for magic without her Benevolence's knowledge, this happened for many years until only a few stood remaining. The most notable of those remaining were the eight that would come to be known as the Earthshaker, the Flamecaller, the Tidelord, the Windsinger, the Shadowbinder, the Icewarden, the Stormcatcher and the Lightweaver.

______ Soon the Lifegiver began to notice the absence of her children and called them to her. Upon asking, the Lightweaver came up with a smooth, pretty lie. "My dear mother, can you not see? We are your first children, aside from this home you have given us, and one can never know what may happen upon one's first creations. It seems that some of your children have just come to the end of their lives. They have given their lives to the ground we roam and to those of us upon it in thanks to making their life long and happy." she said, casting a warm glow upon her mother. "Yes... We thought you knew, and did not think to alert you." the Tidelord added, the rest of the Lifegiver's children agreeing. This news troubled her Benevolence and sent her deep into grief for several years.
