"Nothing compares to the feel of a warm
ocean current as it pulls you towards the
shining glass dome of New Atlantis."

Spirited | Haughty | Stubborn
Nereid, an ocean scout who acts as a representative of New Atlantis. The wilful young merfae is the cousin of sentinel Pelagia, who sent Nereid to live with a land-dwelling clan under an initiative to make new alliances for the underwater city. Nereid spends much of her time in the subterranean lake at the base of the lair, when she is not out patrolling the local shoreline and underwater cave systems. Skilled at wielding a trident as well as some mastery over water magic, the merfae can certainly hold her own in a fight, though she lacks the discipline of the fierce and imposing Atlantian guards. A decent hunter, Nereid's knowledge of seafood and fishing grounds are prized by the clan's gatherers, and helping them land a good catch for the lair to enjoy is something the feisty dragon secretly takes pride in.

Initially deeply unimpressed with her 'landlubber' assignment, the merfae has adjusted reasonably well to her new home, and has recently been awarded guardianship of the lake and its aquatic familiars. Through Nereid and her cousin, The Lastsparks have made additional connections with other marine dragons and clans, creating lucrative trading partnerships and useful information pools. A strong bond between land and ocean has been forged through the New Atlantian exchange programme, and both parties are proud of Nereid's accomplishments, and hope she will continue to grow into her role within the clan.

Fun fact: Nereid's accent is a one-off custom made specifically for her so that the fish-tail would blend with her primary colour and gene!
