Biography

Quote:
The few who do are the envy of the many who only watch.
Driven By Envy| The Atoner| Creator Worship| Dark Is Not Evil

Charon was one of the few unfortunate souls born with dull colors as a coatl. While he was lucky to have parents that didn't abandon him to death, he still felt like he never fit in. Others would treat him like a diseased monstrosity, fearing exposure to his dull plumage would make them deathly ill. Due to this constant treatment, Charon began to hate himself and his colors, becoming obsessively envious of those of his kind will bright, beautiful colors. Charon began to steal feathers from the wings of brightly colored coatls in a vain attempt to make himself feel better. When others began to notice, Charon was confronted and scolded for his creepy behavior, a crowd gathering to shun him for taking out his hatred for his colors on others. Something snapped in Charon and he attacked one of the dragons scolding him. Realizing what he had done, he fled the Ashfall Waste and was branded a sin coatl.

After this incident, Charon wandered the lands of Sornieth aimlessly. He didn't trust himself to be around others for fear of his envious behavior to cause him to lash out again. He no longer had family, friends, or a purpose and was content with wandering the lands until his body gave out; just as the Flamecaller would have wanted at his birth.

However, as Charon was ready to allow himself to expire, he wandered into the Sunbeam Ruins where he found a shrine to the Lightweaver. The coatl can't quite explain what happened when he came across this shrine, but he believes that he received a vision from the Lightweaver. She filled Charon with a sense of a peace and told him that she believed there was still hope for the young coatl. After this vision, Charon felt a strange sense of comfort and left the forest to search for a clan, taking the Lightweaver's words to heart. Charon came across Alistair and his fledgling clan, following him to the Starwood Strand where he would play a key role in rebuilding Clan Dusk.

Charon has since come to worship the Lightweaver for believing in him and giving him a new lease on life. Charon now goes out of his way to help others through their problems, mostly with coatls such as himself that suffer from self hatred due to their dull colors. While he does continue to struggle with envy at seeing of many members of his clan that have vibrant colors. Charon reminds himself what happened the first time he let his greatest sin get to him.

At times, Charon will teach others the way of the Lightweaver in hopes of converting them to her teachings. While he hasn't made the biggest impact on his clan since they worship many of the deities, he is still able to convert a few curious souls here and there. While some may find it annoying, Charon finds to be the greatest way he can repay the deity that he believes helped save his life.
